Based on her social media posts, there are two key takeaways from Deavan Clegg’s life after filming wrapped for 90 Day Fiance The Other Way. The first is that Deavan is happy in a new relationship with Topher Park. The second is that she and Jihoon Lee had a much more tumultuous relationship than what was shown on screen. One that included alleged abuse of Deavan’s daughter Drascilla.
Deavan moved to South Korea for her second season on the show. Living in a foreign country was a lot more stressful than just navigating culture shocks and living with man that she was unable to communicate with. According to Deavan, she was treated as a “puppet” by the show management. In a recent social media post, Deavan revealed that this mistreatment led her to contemplate taking her own life.
Jihoon Lee was often apologizing to Deavan Clegg on 90 Day Fiance The Other Way. And her mother. She had the kind of aura that brought out the frantic in Jihoon, who was berated for not properly tending to all of Deavan’s shortcomings and disappointments. Granted, he did lie about his job and financial stability multiple times, but that doesn’t mean he is responsible for changing Deavan’s entire negative outlook on life. Also, Drascilla running into the street was so not on him. He was not her disciplinarian for three plus years.
Deavan’s social media indicated that she had already moved on from Jihoon in real time, before their wedding even aired. Maybe we could have hoped, for the children’s sake, that it had worked out between them. However, Deavan’s fight or flight mentality makes one question whether she had ever planned to return to Korea. Jihoon may have been immature and/or got a bad edit, but most viewers feel badly for him in lieu of the fact that he has not seen his son since Deavan returned to the USA.
Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio are the first male same sex couple in the 90 Day Fiance franchise. This couples story line veered from just being entertaining TV to exposing cultural discrimination against same-sex couples. Viewers watched as Kenny, used to the progressive vibe in Florida, struggled to legitimize his relationship with Armando in Mexico.
Not only did they deal with Armando’s family struggling to accept them, but also legal discrimination when the courts refused to grant them a marriage license. It was heartbreaking to watch, especially as Armando’s daughter Hannah picked up on the struggles her father had to endure in order to wed his partner.
Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance The Other Way was packed full of drama! This was a mix of raw emotion and a hot mess rolled up in one. There was everything from begging, threats and proposals. All those things wrapped up in one makes for an emotional rollercoaster. I needed a few drinks after watching all of those stressful situations.
Sumit is backed into a corner. Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio receive shocking news. Ariela Weinberg ‘s life takes an unexpected turn. Deavan Clegg‘s wedding day doesn’t go as she expected. Brittany Banks is forced to make a choice for love. Let’s get straight to the 90 Day Fiance The Other Way recap!
“Ah, fresh blood.”- Dracula…. probably.
In a year that can easily be described as the most torturous rollercoaster ride in recent memory, we finally have some light at the end of this dark and dingy tunnel: a brand new season of 90 Day Fiancé! With the current season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way in its denouement, trailers and previews of the upcoming 8th season of the OG franchise have been popping up on the network since early November.
And with a new season comes new couples! A wonderful mix of American love-seekers and their foreign flames who they’re hoping to eventually marry. With a formula that has been proven successful time and time again, it seems like we’ll never run out of zany long distance couples to follow on their journey into wedded bliss- not now and possibly not ever. And with so many variant shows under the 90 Day Fiancé umbrella, it’s super common for couples to cross over from one to the next based on their relationship status. According to Entertainment Tonight, Season 8 is packing some heat as trailers have already introduced us to several tumultuous newbies as well as some familiar faces. Let’s dig in!
Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance The Other Way was all about the impact family can have on a relationship. When you decide to love someone you will also have to deal with their loved ones. For some, this is a much easier task than for others. In this episode, several couples have to make an important decision. Will they choose their family or their relationships? In some cases, making the wrong choice can have dire consequences.
Jenny Slatten and Sumit sit down with his parents. Brittany Banks learns the truth about Yazan Abo Horira’s family issues. Tim makes a decision that will impact the future of his relationship with Melyza. Ariela Weinberg attempts to make Biniyam Shibre and his family happy. Let’s get straight to the 90 Day Fiance The Other Way recap!
Most 90 Day Fiance couples are dysfunctional. Put two people together from different backgrounds and there are bound to be disagreements. One partner will come from a more progressive society and will struggle to adhere to orthodox cultures. They also have not experienced daily life together. Put all this conflict together and it still would not encompass the hot mess that is Yazan Abo Horira and Brittany Banks.
90 Day Fiance The Other Way Season 2 star Brittany waltzes onscreen with little sensitivity about Jordanian fiance Yazan’s culture. Each encounter with Yazan is a power struggle regarding who will compromise what. Brittany is expected to adhere to Islamic life, while Yazan is challenged to appease his family. One wonders why either partner would want to change their life so much for the other. But Brittany says that Yazan struggled more with the contrast in cultures than she did.
