Real Housewives of New York legend Luann de Lesseps hasn’t settled into a home since her first divorce. Of course she has the house in the Hamptons, but she has been relocating in Manhattan many times since leaving the home she shared with Count Alex de Lesseps.
Luann bought some sort of spherical abode in upstate New York for a short time. Then there was the hasty move into Tom D’Agostino’s penthouse. That was more of a status symbol situation than a marriage, but Luann weathered the humiliation for seven months. Maybe memories of holding court on the accompanying terrace were some consolation for Luann. Though the terrace is off limits for her now, Luann has found herself within sights of its majesty again.
Luann de Lesseps is a maven of cabaret. She a current star of Real Housewives of New York. And, not for nothing, Luann is also cool – not all like, uncool. Luann is also very unlucky in love, it seems. When Lu joined RHONY, she was… THE COUNTESS. She was married to Alex de Lesseps, a real live French diplomat who may or may not have ditched Luann for an Ethiopian princess. Lu licked her wounds and eventually moved on to another Frenchman, Jacques Azoulay. We all loved French Ross Geller and it appeared Lu did too – until a rogue pirate in St. Barths with a penchant for guyliner put more than a kink in their relationship.
Somehow Luann eventually found herself involved with
douche CEO Tom D’Agostino. Tom, much like Harry Dubin, made himself a regular fixture on the Housewives dating circuit. Unfortunately for Luann, their dating lead to engagement, which lead to Luann going off the rails. In the wake of Luann’s affair of the heart and Tom’s affair in general, Lu’s mind was less on relationships and more on not getting arrested again. After trying her luck on a dating site, Lu met personal trainer Garth Wakeford. Now, after several months of going out, we learn Garth is partying on without Luann.
When it comes to Real Housewives comebacks, Luann de Lesseps is up there with the best of them. After a short marriage, drunken arrest, rehab stint, a lawsuit from her ex-husband Alex de Lesseps and children Victoria de Lesseps and Noel de Lesseps, and second rehab stint, Luann is back on stage for her cabaret show Countess and Friends.
Not only that, but now Luann is joking about her recent hard times- the rehab stint and the lawsuit from her own family members- in her cabaret act.
The franchise may be called Real Housewives, but in actuality a lot of these ladies are not even wives. In fact, viewers got to see many marriages fall apart in front of the reality TV cameras.
There are some former couples that were just too annoying to watch. I felt a vicarious sense of relief when these people split up. Then there were other splits that I just never saw coming and felt weirdly sad about. Sadly, there have been a lot of Real Housewives breakups over the years.
