Whitney Port has spent enough time on reality TV to be wary of it. It can bring out the worst in people and blur lines between reality and reality TV. And now that she has decided to return to the medium, Whitney is sharing her thoughts on coming back to it all and how she has meshed with her former costars.
Whitney was Lauren Conrad’s coworker on The Hills. She handled herself with grace and stayed above the fray for the most part. Whitney basically sat in a closet with Lauren for two years and functioned as a soundboard to everyone else’s drama. Then she landed her own show, The City, for two seasons.
Last week’s speculation that production issues would delay the premiere of The Hills: New Beginnings was, thankfully, proven unfounded.
MTV just released a trailer for the reboot. In it, fans can see a montage of scenes from the original show. If the visual memories aren’t enough, you get to hear the same Natasha Bedingfield theme song. It’s clear this whole project is marketed as a nostalgia trip for The Hills lovers, but they could have picked a new song.
The Hills: New Beginnings is in need of some reshoots and the cast is not happy about it. Network insiders have said that the stars would have to commit an additional three months of their time to complete the process, and though the cast is made up of reality TV alums, the group was not anticipating the additional commitment.
The comeback of the hit reality show The Hills features most of its original cast with some new faces as well. Brody Jenner, Stephanie Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Frankie Delgado, and Justin Bobby Brescia will be accompanied by villainous couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.
Heidi Montag may have faded into obscurity for a while. But last week she made big news even more tremendous by answering a question about diversity in the most tone-deaf and detached manner possible.
At this point, we all know that Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari will not be a part of The Hills reboot, but what about the other “big” name from the show? Will Brody Jenner be a part of The Hills: New Beginnings?
Last night’s MTV Video Music Awards brought out a slew of reality stars. Teen Mom stars Kailyn Lowry and Catelynn Lowell were on the pink carpet, as well as former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham. It was apparently bring your kid to the VMAs night because Farrah, Spencer Pratt and others were spotted with their young kids in tow. Also seen at the awards show: Kylie Jenner, Blac Chyna, Snooki and Jwoww and more!
I bet this was awkward! Former Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks attended the same event this weekend. The former friends were photographed at “The Bonfyre” listening party in Atlanta. Also spotted: former RHOA star Lisa Wu and also Rasheeda and Kirk Frost.
Check out these and more reality star sightings in the gallery below! And tell us who wins best and worst dressed at the VMAs.
It feels like the fans have been asking for a reboot of The Hills forever and now it is FINALLY happening. There’s no word on who will return for the show or what it is even going to be about at this point, but I will watch every single episode whether I like it or not.
Are they going to re-open Les Deux Nightclub and turn it into a daycare facility for their adorable children? Do all of the cast members even live near each other? There are so many logistical questions, but I don’t even truly care about whether or not this show actually makes sense, but I am so here for it.
It feels like almost every successful movie or TV show these days is actually a reboot. As Tom Sandoval would say “people love nostalgia”- pronounced like “nuh-stahl-GEE-uh,” of course. The Jersey Shore reboot is killing it, so why not bring back another MTV classic?
Could The Hills be returning to the network for a reboot of its own? Some “inside sources” say that it is being considered, whatever that means. Most of the stars are down to do it (obviously), but there is one major hold out: Lauren Conrad. This should shock absolutely no one. She left the show before it even ended. She has a successful lifestyle brand. She’s happily making money and keeping her family out of the spotlight. She does not need this show- although it would be great to have her back narrating the action just like old times. She could even pull a Cameran Eubanks and just talk about everyone else’s drama while she hides her own personal life from the reality TV cameras.
