As the news of Erika Jayne’s divorce is only now breaking on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the fallout from her decision is playing out in real time July 2021. She left Tom Girardi’s mansion and downsized her life in many ways. The reason for Erika’s secrecy and haste is now clear, and lawyers are dissecting her every word on RHOBH for indication that she knew about Tom’s alleged involvement embezzling from crash victims.
Erika is suffering another setback in a challenging year. If it wasn’t bad enough to be seen out and about without the benefits of a glam squad, and for being under legal scrutiny for the alleged wrong-doings of your former spouse, Erika was also dumped as a model for Rihanna’s Fenty brand.
This week Andy Cohen gifted fans with news of a “Bravo Kids” special that will be featured on an episode of Watch What Happens Live. The special includes Gia Giudice, Frankie Catania, Albie Manzo and Chris Manzo from Real Housewives of New Jersey, Brielle Biermann, Riley Burruss, and Kairo Whitfield (THANK YOU) from Real Housewives of Atlanta, Avery Singer and Victoria de Lesseps from Real Housewives of New York City, and of course OG kids Briana Culberson and Shane Keough (YES) from Real Housewives of Orange County.
The “kids” featured in this special all grew up on TV and probably had zero say in showing their awkward years on camera for millions of people. So, this could be awesome! While the show features our favorite Bravo kids, there are some noticeable names missing. Yolanda Hadid’s daughters, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid are probably too busy being supermodels to show up on WWHL. But what about Kyle Richards’ daughters? Or Lisa Rinna’s? Nene Leakes’ kids? Or Jill Zarin’s daughter? Something tells me they’re dying to be included – and Andy has hinted as much without naming names.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans heard about Yolanda Hadid’s (then Yolanda Foster) struggles with Lyme Disease during her final seasons on the shows.
Her castmates questioned how truthful she was because some days she “looked fine.” And don’t even mention the word “Munchausen” because I’m still burned out from its use during Yolanda’s final season.
We can’t cover every news story ourselves. Fortunately, there are a lot of great sources for reality TV news and gossip. Check out these links from some of our favorite sites in the December 9, 2019 edition of Monday Morning Tea.
We all know Mohamed Hadid. Father of supermodels, Gigi and
not-Gigi Bella Hadid. Ex-husband of Lyme disease survivor (#neverforget) Yolanda Foster. Or is it Hadid? I can’t keep up with Yolanda’s illnesses or last names. Viewers would also recognize Mohamed as a close friend of Lisa Vanderpump, showing up occasionally on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Mohamed is also a billion-dollar real estate mogul. A
completely non-shady businessman devoted to building some of the most luxurious pads in California. Recently one of these pricey mansions got Mohamed in some hot water. After violating certain codes, Mr. Money found himself on the receiving end of some community service. But the insanely wealthy are not like us. They have people on-hand to take care of every request, from screwing in a light bulb to scrubbing the toilet. Except for Kyle Richards, of course. She does everything herself! So if you thought you would see mega-rich Mohamed on the side of the road picking up trash, think again. He’s got people for that…
We all know that being a Housewife comes with some great perks. Public exposure on a popular television show. Endless opportunities to self-promote whatever it is you are selling. Being a Housewife has led some anonymous women to fame and fortune and helped others in a career lull to re-invent themselves ala Lisa Rinna.
Sounds good so far. But there is sometimes a downside for Real Housewives. And that is the battering they can take on social media. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Erika Jayne has just found out how low the comments can go when you are famous. And you have a son who is a police officer.
In an armor-clad blush lingerie Instagram selfie, Yolanda Hadid took her 55-year-old body-ody-ody to the social media airwaves and captioned beside it her secret to success: “Living in a body free of breast implants, fillers, botox, extensions and all the bulls—t I thought I needed in order to keep up with what society conditioned me to believe what a sexy woman should look like until the toxicity of it all almost killed me.”
Who knew Yolanda was suffering so severely from being of victim of
