On last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Orange County we started to see some of Elizabeth Lyn Vargas’ truth. Up to this point, we only knew that she had been married to billionaire, Bernt Bodal (I can’t with that name). We know this because she constantly talks about being a “billionaire’s wife.” But she also talks about growing up poor and her boyfriend, Jimmy Juarez.
Jimmy and Elizabeth’s relationship has a sketchy timeline. She also claims they only recently started having sex because she wanted her divorce to be finalized. All of these alternative facts raised the eyebrows of her fellow cast members. Primarily Shannon Beador (she’ll deny it) and Braunwyn Windham-Burke. Then, last week, Elizabeth revealed that she was raised in a religious cult that was horribly abusive. This information puts Elizabeth’s omissions into perspective.
Elizabeth Lyn Vargas is having quite the rookie season on Real Housewives of Orange County. Elizabeth told her RHOC co-stars Gina Kirschenheiter and Kelly Dodd that she was under a gag order concerning her divorce from billionaire Bernt Bodal.
After their divorce was finalized in July of 2020, Elizabeth received a paltry $31,000 a month in support from her ex-husband. Elizabeth’s co-stars were tired of her bragging about her wealth. So, Elizabeth gifted them each a “badass” Louis Vuitton face mask that retails for $490.
I must confess that I have mixed feelings about Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Elizabeth Lyn Vargas. There is so much confusion about what she says, and what is actually the truth.
We do know that Elizabeth is the CEO/Founder of digital music label and streaming service Edge Music. In an earlier episode of RHOC this season, Elizabeth told her friend, Kelly Dodd, and Gina Kirschenheiter that she was under a strict gag order regarding her divorce from billionaire Bernt Bodal.
How are we feeling about Elizabeth Lyn Vargas? The other Real Housewives of Orange County ladies showed us last night that they’re sick of her talking about money. Even if she was cast to do just that.
We all know Elizabeth is recently divorced from billionaire, Bernt Bodal. She loves fast cars, bringing out Shannon Beador’s insecurities, and terrible fashion. She also has a longtime boyfriend, Jimmy Juarez, whom she just started having sex with. Elizabeth has claimed many times that she met Jimmy last year and that they waited to sleep together until her divorce was final. Kelly Dodd, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson have questioned this and it looks like they’re on to something.
Elizabeth Lyn Vargas is an interesting addition to Real Housewives of Orange County. I say “interesting” because I genuinely can’t tell if I like her or not. She has all of the things you might want in a housewife. She has a billionaire ex-husband. Elizabeth has an obsession with general materialism fancy cars. Then, there’s her odd outlook on sex, and a kind of tragic backstory. Plus, she makes Shannon Beador squirm.
Shannon can barely contain her insecurity around Elizabeth because she knows she has some real green money. Elizabeth was married to Bernt Bodal, (sounds like a Bond villain), owner of American Seafood Group, for five years. We also know Elizabeth couldn’t take being a billionaire’s wife and that he got some other woman pregnant. That sucks all around, especially because he told her he didn’t want kids. Now, Elizabeth is coming to collect.
Season 15 of Real Housewives of Orange County is all about change. Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge exited the series, and everyone was curious about who would step into their shoes. Elizabeth Lyn Vargas joined RHOC, and once again, this Elizabeth Vargas is not a reporter.
Elizabeth is the CEO/Founder of the digital music label and streaming service Edge Music. So far, I am loving her.
Welcome back to week three of The Real Housewives of Orange County! Now before we go down the rabbit hole to discuss Shannon Beador‘s revamped food line, Kelly Dodd‘s latest tone deaf behavior or whatever hair nightmare Gina Kirschenheiter will inflict upon us this week, I realize I failed to analyze one very important element of any new Housewives season last week: taglines! Since I started with episode 2, I didn’t think much about it. But in retrospect, Bravo supplanted the taglines in the reveal with Jeana Keough‘s epic Desperate Housewives-inspired intro. So let’s dive into the Season 15 taglines shall we?
For starters, they’re pretty atrocious. I mean, right? Like, all together they might be the weakest batch in RHOC history. Possibly in all of Housewives history. And that’s saying something for a show that started out with Vicki Gunvalson crying, “I don’t wanna get old” way back in Season 1. Kelly telling viewers not to judge her? After everything she’s been doing and saying in the wake of a global pandemic? That’s rich. (And don’t even get me started on that “Drunk Wives Matter” moment.) Braunwyn Windham-Burke‘s makes more sense in the context of her alcoholism than it did before the season premiered, while Shannnon‘s “closed Beador” probably would’ve been more effective if she’d used it back in Season 13 right after her split.
