Sadie Robertson was the “reality star” pick for Dancing with the Stars season 19. During her introduction, the Duck Dynasty star mentioned that dancing is strictly prohibited at the Christian school she attends in Louisiana. The 1984 cult classic Footloose immediately came to mind for many, myself included.
So is dancing truly 100% prohibited at Sadie‘s school? According to the school’s principal, YES! The school has a long-standing ban on school dances, including prom, he confirmed.
Despite her lack of experience, Sadie proved she was a serious contender last week when she and her partner, Mark Ballas, earned the second highest score of the night. And while the judges’ comments were largely favorable, Willie Robertson took issue with one of Julianne Hough‘s suggestions.

ABC kicked off Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars last night. Despite my ho-hum reaction to the “stars” cast, I enjoyed the show. I especially enjoyed a peek of Maks Chmerkovskiy in the audience. 😉
Some seasons, like this one, the only reason I turn on the premiere is to see my favorite pros dance. Luckily I always find a star or two to root for along the way. But my interest fades a little bit each time one of the pros I like to watch – Anna Trebunskaya, Tristan MacManus, Chelsie Hightower, Kym Johnson, and Maks come to mind – leaves the show.
Now it sounds like I will have one less reason to tune in to Season 20. Another one of my favorite pros, Cheryl Burke, recently announced that Season 19 will probably be her last on Dancing with the Stars.

ABC has released the cast photos for Dancing with the Stars season 19.
Thursday’s new cast reveal did not impress me, but I will tune in to cheer on my favorite pro dancers. When did the pros become a bigger draw than the stars?! That said, I remember not knowing much about Emmitt Smith, Gilles Marini, Donald Driver, and Zendaya beyond their profession, but I grew to love each of them on their season. So I hope the same happens this time around.
Below are photos of the stars – Antonio Sabato Jr, Betsey Johnson, Alfonso Ribeiro, Janel Parrish, Lolo Jones, Tommy Chong, Bethany Mota, Randy Couture, Michael Waltrip, Sadie Robertson, Tavis Smiley, Lea Thompson, and Jonathan Bennett – with their pro partners. This coming Monday brings us the Bachelor in Paradise finale – who’s watching that hot mess?!? – then the new season of Dancing with the Stars kicks off Monday, September 15.

ABC unveiled the Dancing with the Stars season 19 cast this morning on Good Morning America. Cheech and Chong star Tommy Chong and reality TV star Betsey Johnson were my biggest surprises. Need I say more about the rest?
Most of the rumors were true. Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson will dance. When asked how her family reacted to the news, Sadie said, “They thought it was hilarious. We don’t really have that much dancing experience in the family, but it’s going to be really funny to see them all at the show.”
But a few of the rumors missed the mark. Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman did not make the cut. I’m not sad about it. Oh, you know who else is missing? THE STARS. Seriously, if I have to Google more than half of the cast, they are not stars. <sigh> Check out the complete list below and let us know what you think.

It’s Dancing with the Stars rumor time! With the new season right around the corner, the internet is abuzz over which stars will compete on Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars. The cast will be revealed Thurs, September 4 on Good Morning America. Until then, we have some rumors!
Unsurprisingly, Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman is rumored to be dancing. A few sources even claimed that her chosen one, Josh Murray, will compete too. That’s never been done before and ABC is normally dreadfully predictable, so I fully expect to see Josh seated in the audience only.

This morning on Good Morning America, ABC announced the twelve pro dancers who will compete on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. Why? I have no idea!! We already knew Maks Chmerkovskiy and Tristan MacManus won’t be decorating our TV screens this fall, so what’s the point?
I’m kidding, but in all seriousness, I’m willing to bet most fans of DWTS are more interested in the celebrity side of the cast. Never-the-less, here’s the list:
Dancing with the Stars season 19 will feature returning pros, Derek Hough, Karina Smirnoff, Tony Dovolani, Peta Murgatroyd, Witney Carson, Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Emma Slater, and Val Chmerkovskiy, and new pros, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, and Keoikantse Motsepe.
