It would be nice to say that Season 13 of Real Housewives of Orange County started out with a bang, but that sadly is not what happened. At all. After a dismally boring Season 12, the Season 13 premiere was just OK. Pretty much nothing happened, but let’s hope that the ladies are just warming up.
Tonight we welcome Real Housewives Of Orange County back into our collective consciousness. I may be the lone one, but I’m excited! Before moving into new dramas let’s recap what happened last season!
Lydia McLaughlin returned
to use free advertising for the launch of her new magazine after a long hiatus to contemplating what Alexis Jesus would do as a Real Housewife, and Vicki remained – and remained on the outs with everyone. Heather Dubrow decided she didn’t want to expose her marriage to anymore speculative gossip and quit, so instead enter: Peggy Sulahian. Someone in casting was on Vicki’s Vodka that day!
It was tough watching Shannon Beador try so hard to save her marriage following her now-ex-husband David Beador’s infidelity and constant condescension. Thankfully she’s done with him and she’s focusing on herself and her three daughters- but does she have a new man as well?
That is the rumor. There hasn’t been a confirmation from the Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, but there has been some gossip about a new man in her life. Hopefully this is true and hopefully we get to see Shannon dating on Season 13 of the show.
Season 13 of Real Housewives of Orange County is shaping up to be a come back season for Shannon Beador. She dropped dead weight (David Beador), lost some pounds, and now she is (finally) monetizing her Real Housewife status and becoming an entrepreneur.
Shannon just launched her own line of prepared foods at QVC which is exciting enough, but she continued to live her best life by turning the launch into a girls trip with her daughter Sophie and her RHOC costar Tamra Judge.
Between the “rumors” and the court documents, there is just so much information circulating about the divorce proceedings and child custody circumstances between the two of them.
Shannon Beador and David Beador met with a judge last week to begin proceedings for their divorce, specifically over Shannon request for temporary alimony. David argued that Shannon doesn’t need his money, but a judge disagreed.
David, oddly, represented himself while the Real Housewives Of Orange County star brought along her attorney who was much better equipped to fight for her rights. David was apparently trying to save money – or maybe he’s too broke to afford his legal fees and Shannon’s – which the judge ordered him to pay $25,000 towards.
Right now Shannon Beador is probably smashing the nine lemons in a bowl against the wall. Then using the remains to make several vodka sodas!
As expected Shannon and David Beador‘s divorce has turned nasty. The Real Housewives Of Orange County star filed in December and asked for primary physical custody and spousal support. However recent court filings reveal that last year Shannon earned $420,000 from the show and various endorsements associated with her Bravo contract. Now David is contesting Shannon’s custody filing and fighting her request for spousal support.
Considering that the demise of his marriage played out during the last few Real Housewives of Orange County seasons, it’s not too surprising that David Beador will not be on the show next season. The fans heard all about his affair, watched him renew his vows with Shannon Beador, and eat potato chips in front of her while she was on a diet before she confirmed the end of their marriage during the reunion taping.
It seems like a given that David would be off the show now that he and Shannon aren’t together, but thanks to Housewives ex-husbands like Peter Thomas and Frank Catania, who are very present on their exes’ shows, this is something that needs to be clarified. Even so, David did seem uncomfortable in front of the camera, so it isn’t at-all shocking that he’s done with the show. Plus he has a new girlfriend these days.
