This episode is going to hit a little differently after the news Dorinda Medley is leaving The Real Housewives Of New York. They say all good things must come to an end. It hasn’t exactly been the best season for her, so it’s not all that surprising. Ramona Singer tried telling Dorinda she has anger issues, but you can’t tell someone something they don’t want to hear.
The season has felt like a disjointed mess at times, but through it all, they give us the humor and drama we want. There isn’t a whole lot happening heading into one of the final episodes of the season, so hopefully it’s good. On last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York, it was so nice to see a positive moment for Sonja Morgan. At last, she finally came through on something. Now come on ladies, give us a solid end to this season!
Real Housewives of New York is on tonight and the ladies gather to celebrate Dorinda Medley’s birthday, which feels a little strange since we know that Dorinda
got fired “left the show.” It’s hard to be invested in anything she has going on at this point. Then again, I felt that way anyway since she refused to listen to anyone all season long. Normally, controversy entertains, but with Dorinda this season, I just couldn’t help being frustrated from my couch at home. I can’t imagine how annoyed the other cast members felt being stuck with her in person.
But, anyway, Dorinda’s ex John Mahdessian is in attendance at her birthday and so is drunk Luann de Lesseps, who we haven’t seen in a bit. Of course, she uses Dorinda’s birthday as yet another opportunity to do her best Marilyn Monroe-style rendition of “Happy Birthday.”
The Real Housewives of New York cast members are still partying in Cancun, Mexico during tonight’s upcoming episode.
On the very last night of the vacation Ramona Singer decides to address Dorinda Medley’s anger issues in a group text. I don’t know why she doesn’t just do this in person since the whole cast is on the trip though. Oh, wait. We all saw how that went last week when Dorinda refused to listen to anyone else and threw a temper tantrum at lunch. On second thought, I don’t blame Ramona for turning to a group text. It just seems like too much of a headache to deal with in person.
We never got any sort of introduction to meet Elyse Slaine on Real Housewives of New York. Yes, she’s not a full-time cast member, but we have heard a lot more about the “Friends of the Housewives” throughout the years. All of a sudden, she was just there, by Ramona Singer’s side, standing there quietly.
Then, she started doing confessional interviews and she went on the cast trip to the Berkshires. However, she wasn’t included when the Real Housewives of New York ladies went to Mexico. So is she in or is she out? That whole thing is a bit unclear, but, Elyse wasn’t asked to appear at the reunion. One thing that is very clear is that Ramona and Elyse are on the outs.
The Real Housewives of New York cast is still in Mexico tonight. Last week, Leah McSweeney blasted Ramona Singer to stop talking about her vagina and her mental health. Sonja Morgan was trashed from mixing rosé and soda, which just sounds like a gross mixture to me.
Surprisingly, the ladies didn’t argue over the room selection in their mega-mansion, but, unsurprisingly, Ramona made questionable comments about the staff at the house. She even had someone blowing out her hair. Again, not surprising.
The Real Housewives of New York cast members gathered in Long Island, New York today to film the season 12 reunion IN PERSON! As we all know, this is a big deal (to reality TV fans) during the coronavirus pandemic among all of the virtual reunions.
They are probably still arguing at this point, but we did know some things about the reunion before even before the filming finished up. Elyse Slaine said she was not asked to be a part of the taping. Leah McSweeney is ready to face off against Ramona Singer. Tinsley Mortimer flew in from Chicago (and subsequently quarantined) in order to safely tape the reunion. Oh, and Ramona has an issue with Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan’s manners, which is just rich coming from Ramona of all people.
For those of you watching Real Housewives of New York, you know that the “Ramona-coaster” is in full swing. That’s right – Ramona Singer is officially ready to rumble with anyone standing in her way. And her main target seems to be newbie, Leah McSweeney. Despite them getting off to a decent start, things quickly grew frosty between the two. Ramona just can’t seem to get over mothering Leah and won’t accept her for who she is. Well, in fairness, who Leah is is a lot. But Ramona could take it down a notch.
The last few episodes of RHONY have showed Ramona’s unwillingness to bend on what she would deem “high society” behavior. But at this point, it’s seeming more like “old puritan” behavior. Ramona should know that sometimes when people are drinking, they get a little rowdy. Especially with this bunch! You mean to tell me that one of her 50 closest friends hasn’t had a lapse in judgment when slinging back cocktails? Seems to me that Ramona is just trying to control the situation. Case in point, Ramona trying to cut the cameras when Leah was grinding on Luann de Lesseps at her birthday party.
Last week’s episode of Real Housewives of New York ended with a cliffhanger. Ramona Singer was yelling at production, threatening to leave the show because of how wild the cast got at her lame luncheon-style birthday party. (No, the party wasn’t actually at lunchtime, but it might as well have been.)
She took issue with Leah McSweeney for looking amazing when she walked into the party. Jealousy alert. She was miffed when some of the cast members didn’t comply with her party’s dress code. But, she really flipped out when the women started dancing and it was too raunchy for her high society friends.
