Survivor: Winners At War Episode 12 Recap: Whisperers At War

I don’t know about you, but I’m going to miss me some Survivor when it’s gone in just two weeks. As we barrel towards the two-hour double-episode next Wednesday, and the three-hour Finale Episode on May 13th, I’m reminded how good we have it that Survivor is in our homes right now…at a time when we’re all in our homes. And we’re very fortunate that we still have five hours of Winners at War to get through before Survivor goes away for what could be an extended period of time (with production on Seasons 41 and 42 delayed indefinitely due to coronavirus).

The game is just operating on an unprecedented level right now, driven by one Tony Vlachos, who over the past two weeks has absolutely put on a clinic, on a season where it’s not just returning all-stars, but some of the best players the game has ever seen. The challenges have been surprising, the strategy top-notch, and each week at The Edge of Extinction we’re given stories of endurance and sheer will-power. As for Tribal Council though, it’s not without controversy. The fairly recent trend of “Tribal whispering” sent the game of full-tilt tonight, reviving the argument in the Survivor community over whether Tribal Council “huddles” should be allowed in the game at all. Some fans love the drama these moments provide, others think it is ruining the game. Where do you land in this debate? I’ll give you my take after the page break…and we’ll dissect all of the other major happenings from this week’s chaotic episode.

As I do at the beginning of every recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s episode of Survivor: Winners at War. If you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap. It is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Survivor: Island of the Idols Episode 12 Recap: The New ‘Noura-mal’

We’ve now sped past Thanksgiving only to find ourselves firmly in December, with the two-hour Finale Episode right around the corner (just two weeks people!). “Speed” was the name of the game tonight on Survivor, where over the course of the hour we went from a tear-jerker to a head-scratcher. It was a dizzy, messy Tribal Council and there’a a lot to unpack, so let’s waste no more time and get to recappin’!

Survivor: Edge of Extinction Episode 12 Recap: Pinball Wizard

The game of Survivor this season, according to host Jeff Probst, has been like an unpredictable game of pinball: Flippers are flapping constantly, with the ball moving so fast and furiously that you just can’t quite get a feel for where it may drop. It definitely feels that way, but tonight – keeping with the pinball references, and assuming you are old enough to know what pinball even is – the game went full tilt with yet another memorable Tribal Council.

Exclusive Interview: Survivor: David vs. Goliath’s Gabby: ‘If You Think I Didn’t Know About His Girlfriend…You’re An Idiot’

There may be no crying in baseball, but when it comes to Survivor, let those tears loose, child. This week we said goodbye to Gabby. I think it’s fair to say has worn her emotions on her sleeve. And even though her platonic relationship with Christian has been one of the main themes of this season, this week she finally sought to make a big move against him in an attempt to bolster her “Survivor resume.” It back-fired, in glorious fashion.

Survivor: David vs. Goliath Episodes 12 Recap: The Sidekick

I’m not crying, you’re crying! It was an emotional roller-coaster of an episode tonight on Survivor., The contestants’ “loved ones” challenge revealed some softer sides from the remaining eight players. I mean, Gabby has cried during almost every single episode this season, so that’s no barometer. But you know it’s an emotional night when everyone out there was left sobbing. There wasn’t a dry eye in my house (darned allergies!). This was not just because of all of the love that was in the air. The game took a stunning turn towards the end with yet another shocking Tribal Council.

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s Chelsea Townsend: ‘I Played A Big Part In Strategy’

After last week’s surprise double-Tribal Council, we were left with just eight players left in the game of Survivor this season. This week there were less surprises, but nonetheless the game trimmed out one more player, a player that you may not have even known was there for much of the season.

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 12 Recap: ‘This Decision Is Everything’

If you’re like me, you will find yourself occasionally shouting things incoherently at your TV screen. It tends to happen from time to time, because hey, it’s the American way. This week’s episode of Survivor was one of those times, where it was so easy for me to see the right move to make sitting in the comfort of my own home, pajamas on, eating cookies. “Just do it! Make the big move!” I would say, expletives deleted. Sure, I might have been over-compensating by being unnecessarily aggressive towards my TV and the people on it, since just a few moments earlier I was sniffling and crying during the episode’s “loved ones” Reward Challenge. It could have been my allergies, actually. Yes, it was my allergies. That’s my story.

But before we dive in, as I do at the beginning of every Recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 12 of Survivor: Ghost Island, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! Survivor: HHH Episode 12 Recap: You Don’t Know The Half Of It

It’s safe to say that Survivor: HHH is starting to hit its stride, and just in time. Just one week removed from a powerful double-episode, tonight we were given what was simply the best episode this season…OK, it contained two of the lamest challenges you may ever see, but man was there great drama and good strategy throughout…there was also a shockingly awful move that will go down, unfortunately, as one of the worst blunders in Survivor history. And as we trimmed the field down to just six players left, a chaotic and exciting Tribal Council guaranteed that there will be an even playing field moving forward.

But first, please remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 12 of Survivor: HHH, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add too that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, and is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.
