Survivor: Winners At War Episode 5 Recap: New Season, Who Dis?

It seems sort of odd focusing on, obsessing over and arguing about a Reality TV show on a day like today. This coronavirus news and how it’s impacting our lives, our country, our world is simply overwhelming and forces us to keep our emotions in perspective…and as we learned just hours ago (first reported by EW.com), this virus has now also affected our favorite show, Survivor. In case you haven’t heard, just as production was about to start in Fiji, Jeff Probst informed the cast and crew of the upcoming 41st and 42nd seasons that production on the show would be delayed at least until mid-May because of the global coronavirus pandemic (more on this in a bit). It’s a scary time, that’s for sure.

But on the other hand, watching tonight’s episode was a much-needed diversion from reality. It really felt good to lose myself in the show, especially today. So I hope this article will provide some level of escape for you too, for everyone reading this. Because really, all we can do is play with the cards we’ve been dealt…a lesson that was prevalent in many ways during tonight’s “tribe swap” episode.

As I do at the beginning of every recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s episode of Survivor: Winners at War. If you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap. It is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Survivor: Island of the Idols Episode 5 Recap: Orange Is Dead

Was this week’s episode of Survivor worth sinking your teeth into? I mean, it was no sizzlin’ fajita platter from Applebees or anything, but it was enough to fill you up, if your favorite dish is questionable game-play.

Survivor: Edge of Extinction Episode 5 and 6 Recap: Forged In Fire

This season just got great, people! For those that have stuck through the first handful of episodes, we were rewarded tonight with two AMAZING hours of Survivor. Two hours that were filled with strategy, drama, excitement, twists and major blindsides. It’s made the trek thus far worth it, and then some. I, for one, was bubbling with that Survivor-adrenaline tonight, and forget what the naysayers might be telling you: The Edge of Extinction was darned-exciting tonight too! Yes, Survivor was firing on all cylinders tonight. And here’s hoping it has jolted its loyal fan-base into being excited again. I’m feeling reinvigorated!

As I do at the beginning of every recap, please heed the following. Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 5 and 6 of Survivor: Edge of Extinction. Survivor: David vs. Goliath Episode 5 Recap: Baby It’s Cold Outside

Man that was cold! Like, I’m not going to try to steal your jacket or anything, but there was definitely a chill in the air during this week’s episode of Survivor, and I’m not talking about the cyclone winds that led to the second-ever island evacuation during the game (for those keeping track, the first one occurred during Season 33, Millennials vs. Gen-X).

As I do at the beginning of every Recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 5 of Survivor: David vs. Goliath, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 5 Recap: Massive Wake-Up Call

Had tonight’s episode of Survivor: Ghost Island aired in the 80s, the previews might have referred to it as a “very special episode.” That’s because it was a deeply personal, more emotional chapter of the show that we don’t get all that often, especially thus far this season when it has relied quite strongly on strategic prowess. Those that have complained that they don’t know or care about any of these contestants got to know and care about a select few of them tonight, and depending on if you like that sort of thing, it made the otherwise predictable episode a bit more enjoyable.

But first, as I do at the beginning of every Recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 5 of Survivor: Ghost Island, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add too that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, and is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Exclusive Interview With The Survivor: HHH Contestant Voted Out of Episode 5 – Spoilers!

We’re inching our way towards the merge, as we have now said good-bye to a fifth contestant this season on Survivor. Already over a third of the way through the game, there have been a few blindsides and a few tense Tribal Councils, but mostly, we’ve said good-bye to players that weren’t long for the game or that haven’t been given all that much air-time through five episodes. That being said, tonight’s big decision by one player could end up being a pivotal moment in the game that we look back on and wonder “what if” this person would have chose differently?

Caution, as spoilers from this week’s episode are to follow! Turn back now! If you want to get caught up, be sure to check out the Episode 5 Recap here.
