Thankfully the Real Housewives of New York are out of Salem and back in the city. It wasn’t doing it for anyone, and they need to be back where they belong. There’s still time to kick this dreadful season into a higher gear. So much of the season has centered about Eboni K. Williams and her tendency to shift the conversation in a political direction. However, the blame can not be placed on any ONE person. That includes Leah McSweeney.
A major talking point throughout the Salem trip was Sonja Morgan and her drinking. The women seemed to have gotten through to her, but time will tell if anything actually permeated. It’s a bizarre group to have lecture anyone about alcohol though. None of them really have room to talk or judge. It would be nice though if Sonja could find herself on a path rooted in healthier decisions.
Heather Thomson returned to the Real Housewives of New York and entered the lion’s den. She had no idea what she was walking into. Leah McSweeney made it her mission to confront Heather for negative comments about the group in the press. It is quite courageous of Heather to even show up knowing she dragged most of the group. She managed to play it mostly cool at dinner, but it’s probably far from over.
Ramona Singer is suddenly so close to Heather which feels entirely out of left field. Given Leah’s rocky relationship with Ramona, this is going to do nothing but fuel the fire. There are two wannabe Queen Bee’s in the mix now, and only one can stand tall in the end. Will it be Leah or will it be Heather? It’s going to come down to who the group has more loyalty to. Technically we know what happens, but isn’t the fun in the journey?
The Hamptons are alive with the sound of Garth Wakeford. Or just Garth. The name of Luann de Lesseps’ boyfriend at the time that the Real Housewives of New York was filming it’s 13th Season reverberated all over the East End of Long Island. We’ve learned more about Garth than we needed to, especially considering that he isn’t dating Luann anymore. Garth’s workouts are inspiring. Garth makes a mean lamb curry. But Luann was smitten, hopeful, and enjoying her “coronavirus romance.”
Luann gushing about her “viking” of a man triggered Sonja Morgan into a Morgan-level meltdown. But after a bit of analysis by Eboni K. Williams, Sonja admitted that her negative feelings towards Luann’s new relationship had to do with Luann ghosting her friends every time she finds a new man. Luann acknowledged Sonja’s feelings, if only for the cameras. Well, it’s time to see if Luann modified her behavior.
SHE IS FINALLY BACK. Heather “Hey Mama” Thomson is making her grand return. With Heather, you either love her or hate her. There is no in between. She has A LOT to own up to after speaking negatively in the press about her former costars. Leah McSweeney will make sure of that. The Real Housewives of New York may have been wild when Heather was previously in the group. However, their antics are on an entirely new level since she exited the show. Good luck!
When we last saw Sonja Morgan, she was in a full alcohol induced spiral. Her obsession with her former family is becoming more unhealthy every season. The attachment is misplaced and is doing her quite a bit of harm. She even shoved her bestie Ramona Singer! Ramona is a lot of things, but she doesn’t deserve someone putting their hands on her. Something has to come to a head with her. Will she ever get on a better path? Let’s hope so.
It feels so good to have our girls from The Big Apple back. This season of The Real Housewives of New York is already off to a great start. Eboni K. Williams has been an incredible addition so far. After Ramona Singer’s comment about “the help” on last week’s episode, Eboni plans on confronting her. Good for Eboni for taking it upon herself to hold that woman accountable. Between her and Leah McSweeney, we might see a change in Ramona this season.
Hopefully the women can get through to Sonja Morgan and learn what’s troubling her. She’s felt distant from everyone this season, and she seems on the verge of spiraling. Ramona & Luann de Lesseps wants to learn the root of the distance, but Sonja isn’t spilling. This trip could be their way in to learn what’s actually going on in her head. The last thing anyone wants is a full fledged spiral from Sonja. Fingers crossed things start to change.
Luann de Lesseps is a maven of cabaret. She a current star of Real Housewives of New York. And, not for nothing, Luann is also cool – not all like, uncool. Luann is also very unlucky in love, it seems. When Lu joined RHONY, she was… THE COUNTESS. She was married to Alex de Lesseps, a real live French diplomat who may or may not have ditched Luann for an Ethiopian princess. Lu licked her wounds and eventually moved on to another Frenchman, Jacques Azoulay. We all loved French Ross Geller and it appeared Lu did too – until a rogue pirate in St. Barths with a penchant for guyliner put more than a kink in their relationship.
Somehow Luann eventually found herself involved with
douche CEO Tom D’Agostino. Tom, much like Harry Dubin, made himself a regular fixture on the Housewives dating circuit. Unfortunately for Luann, their dating lead to engagement, which lead to Luann going off the rails. In the wake of Luann’s affair of the heart and Tom’s affair in general, Lu’s mind was less on relationships and more on not getting arrested again. After trying her luck on a dating site, Lu met personal trainer Garth Wakeford. Now, after several months of going out, we learn Garth is partying on without Luann.
After coronavirus outbreaks and major cast shake-ups, the Real Housewives of New York is returning to our TVs this spring. And while the girls won’t be wreaking havoc in the Berkshires with Dorinda Medley this year, the show will introduce its first Black housewife and feature a few ghosts of RHONY past.
On Tuesday, People premiered the first trailer for Season 13 and it truly encompasses everything we love about RHONY. Ramona Singer avoids responsibility at every turn. Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps argue about men. Everyone drinks a little too much. And even Leah McSweeney gets naked in a pool again. All is right in the world.
It’s not about Tom this time! Luann de Lesseps can write a trilogy about her dating history. I’d buy it too, there’s good stuff in there. Remember on that one episode of Before They Were Housewives, when Bravo delved into Luann’s stint on Italian television and hinted that she had a thing with the former Prime Minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi? I believe it.
Since her time in Italy, she’s gone on to marry and divorce The Count and make history on Real Housewives of New York as the cabaret performer who just won’t quit. On RHONY we’ve seen her go through a string of bad decisions in the form of Harry Dubin, pirates, and Tom D’Agostino. Just last year she was dating her agent, Rich Super. No matter what, Luann seems to always move right on. Power to her. Now, she’s confirming that she’s got a new man.
