This is set to be the most monumental season of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta. From the pandemic to the focus on Black Lives Matter, and of course StripperGate, it’s going to be SO JUICY. Our favorite peaches always deliver no matter what. Porsha Williams has ascended to her spot as the new Queen Of ATL with her protesting against police brutality. Who knew she had it in her? That’s what we call a personal glow up.
While some might find it boring, the emphasis on the personal storylines is the reset this show needed. Last season was toxic because of the feud between Kenya Moore and NeNe Leakes. With the exit of the latter woman, we can finally recalibrate and have a great season again. Plus, these are the real issues going on in the world. It’s fascinating to be able to view them in this lens.
NeNe Leakes is feeling some type of way again. On the heels of being “let go” from Real Housewives of Atlanta, NeNe has taken to social media to
whine complain about the fact that her peach went bye-bye. Public social rants are common, especially when you lose your job, but NeNe is taking it next level. Viewers have become used to NeNe and her often caustic displays over the years. But while her antics have become legendary, they have also become intolerable.
NeNe has been given every opportunity to redeem herself. She could have taken responsibility for her violent outburst against a cameraman. She could have extended grace to her husband instead of reprimanding him publicly during his battle with cancer. Not spitting on Kenya Moore probably would have helped. Instead of accepting her fate and perhaps reflecting on what brought her here, NeNe is playing her favorite role. Martyr. This is all Bravo’s fault, you guys – because NeNe says so.
Poor NeNe Leakes! The much victimized star of Real Housewives of Atlanta has once again found herself on the receiving end of some unsavory thoughts. I’m not sure what it says about humankind when people who have been the subject of numerous unkind sentiments decide to make sour comments of their own. It’s just another day in the life of our misunderstood NeNe.
Every now and then – oh what am I saying – every five minutes, NeNe seems to use her voice to verbally slap someone. But you guys, it’s always to defend herself and never to start something. We must keep in mind NeNe is but a mere pawn in the oral battles that take place on RHOA. Everyone from Kenya Moore to Eva Marcille have specifically targeted NeNe for their own gain. Kandi Burruss has gotten in on the barrage of malevolent character assassination and NeNe responds in an effort to keep her sterling reputation untarnished.
When storylines or cast members from our favorite shows become redundant and played out, we often call for new people to join the group. Such is the case for Real Housewives of Atlanta. I mean, how many times have we seen NeNe Leakes mad at someone or Kandi Burrus promoting one of her new business ventures? The same folks engaging in the same arguments year after year can wear on our nerves, or GASP, lower the ratings.
One might believe it would be easy to bring new ladies on and incorporate them into an existing reality television show. The programs are, after all, incredibly popular. But it might be more difficult than we think. With repeated drunken arguments and women attempting to see what levels of petty can be reached, some of the more “famous” candidates for shows do not want to participate. Eva Marcille transitioned from successful model to Housewife, but it has come with a personal price tag. While Atlanta is a hot bed of talent and high-level music industry people, they aren’t exactly clamoring to be a part of the overall messiness. Reputations are tainted and friendships are ended. If you already have a “name”, chances are good you have better things to do than argue for six months out of a year.
