Just like this show as a whole, Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Dallas reunion is all about LeeAnne Locken. Of course, we will revisit the L’Infinity dress debacle. D’Andra Simmons and Kary Brittingham can’t face too much heat for this, right? Especially considering the real issue of the season: LeeAnne’s comments about Kary and her Mexican heritage.
Sure, we have this non-feud between Stephanie Hollman and Kameron Westcott that earned them seats right next to Andy Cohen, but when it comes down to it, this is the LeeAnne Show, like it or not. Tonight is gonna be full of heavy topics, I’m sure: mainly these incredibly insensitive remarks from LeeAnne. The video of Brandi Redmond seemingly mocking Asians surfaced after the reunion finished taping.
Real Housewives of Dallas Season 4 vacillated back and forth from being a total snooze to a total downer with some heavy content. It’s not quite over since the reunion is still playing out, but there’s always some RHOD chatter on social media.
Both fans and cast members have been outraged about LeeAnne Locken’s comments about Kary Brittingham’s Mexican heritage. There’s no doubt that LeeAnne’s remarks will be a focal point of the remaining reunion episodes. Now, in the off-season, a video surfaced of Brandi Redmond seemingly making fun of Asians. Wow, Bethenny, wow. No one expected these headlines on a show that focused around a “poop hat” for all of its first season, yet here we are. Recently, Mrs. Highland Park herself, Kameron Westcott, shared her two cents on her costars’ recent controversies.
Brandi Redmond is definitely one of those Real Housewives who isn’t afraid of letting it all hang out. During the first seasons of the Real Housewives of Dallas, she and BFF Stephanie Hollman often engaged in goofy escapades, sometimes amusing, sometimes not. This season, for the most part, Brandi was a little more reserved and her behavior was not as overtly attention-seeking.
Somehow, Brandi even managed to maintain a cordial relationship with messy LeeAnne Locken. Considering their track record, this was nothing short of miraculous. By Part 1 of the cast reunion, their relationship had soured and in upcoming previews, Brandi appears to call out LeeAnne for her racially-tinged comments directed towards Kary Brittingham in Thailand. Recently, however, a video surfaced of Brandi engaging in some inappropriate behavior of a similarly questionable nature.
Last night was part 1 of the Real Housewives Of Dallas reunion and it was more than abundantly clear that everyone was ready for the LeeAnne Locken stranglehold to end. Those hands… they are stuffed and swollen with filler and cannot hold on!! Even Andy Cohen was geared up for battle.
And then there was Kameron Westcott who made up her own language, which was a combination of gibberish and pig latin, and I’m pretty sure she prepared for this reunion by watching Legally Blonde and believing she was winning at court. (She wasn’t).
First Brandi Redmond updates everyone on the status of adopting Bruin’s sibling. Brandi and Bryan had made the decision to go through with the adoption but the birth mother unfortunately lost the baby. Brandi took the news hard and the only person she told was real-life BFF Stephanie Hollman.
Last night was the season finale of Real Housewives Of Dallas and I’m gonna miss these girls. Well except for LeeAnne Locken. I won’t miss her.
Last night showed us The Rise of The Kam as Kameron Westcott, our tall beautiful starling soared free from the barbed wire nest LeeAnne built for her on the side of a Highland Park mansion. HA — as if LeeANne could afford anything but a bus stop in Highland Park! Well, we know why the caged bird sings about baby elephants, right.
In Thailand, where LeeAnne’s xenophobia reared it’s ugly be-weaved and overly injected head, Kam wrestled with her conscience about whether or not to tell Kary Brittingham that LeeAnne not only called her THE C WORD, but made multiple slurs about her being Mexican. Like that little gem when LeeAnne affected an overplayed Mexican accent and asked Stephanie Hollman if Kary might be able to understand them better if they “spoke Mexican.” Newp – not racist at all!
After two great seasons (no, I’m not counting Season 1), Real Housewives of Dallas Season 4 has been a little ehhh. We continued to be subjected to the never-ending (yet boring) feud between LeeAnne Locken and D’Andra Simmons. They both dyed their hair the same
orange blonde color and claimed that there was infidelity in each other’s marriages.
Other than that, there really haven’t been many storylines, other than Stephanie Hollman and Kameron Westcott “feuding” because they just weren’t meant to be friends. It’s not that complicated, yet here we are. Who would have thought that the words “surface level” would be that upsetting? Well, after a season of pretty much nothing happening, LeeAnne gave us all something to talk about with her culturally insensitive remarks about new Housewife Kary Brittingham. She called Kary a “chirpy Mexican” and used the word “Mexican” a few times over, which is not acceptable. There’s no doubt that this will be the major discussion topic at the Season 4 reunion. Yes, it’s a big deal, and also because, again, nothing else really happened this season. Meanwhile, the Potomac ladies had a fire Season 4, something that I cannot say enough.
Last night’s Real Housewives Of Dallas took me on an emotional journey. I don’t know who’s more manipulative LeeAnne Locken or Kameron Westcott, but at least Kameron has pretty clothes and can talk about something other than a carny childhood.
LeeAnne is certifiably exhausting and I honestly don’t even want to waste breath (words) on more of her broken-down rusty nonsense. My natural hair follicles are tired! My diva cup is tired! And like Brandi Redmond, my patience is more tired than if I had just spent the day babysitting Brooklyn.
Brandi just wants to eat a freaking dinner without having to endure a tirade of fake tears watering down the cocktails. The best thing Brandi did was totally disengaging from that shit-storm of emotional BS that is Life Of Locken. And the best thing D’Andra Simmons did was sit there, stay the course, and remind us of why we initially liked her. This is a new D’Andra. A D’Andra who recognizes herself in Kameron as the friend who was constantly LeeAnne’s emotional stomping ground, her therapy dog, always on the hook for dealing with the drama. Now D’Andra has been released from this silk purse made from a piece of pleather that was masquerading as a relationship.
Waiting for new Vanderpump Rules episodes is killing me. Is it January 7 yet? Unfortunately, it is not. However, fans can fill the void by watching Pump Rules repeats and by reading Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s new book. And by “reading,” I mean trying out every single drink recipe and making some questionable decisions after. Tom and Ariana even included some hangover remedies in the book, so they really do provide you with everything you need.
Yes, the cocktail book that the couple argued about a few seasons ago is finally here. Fancy AF Cocktails: Drink Recipes from a Couple of Professional Drinkers is the perfect gift for your fun friends… or yourself, which is actually also a gift to others if you make a batch of cocktails from Tom and Ariana’s recipes. The duo has been all over the country promoting their book and it all culminated with last night’s launch party at Skybar at Mondrian Los Angeles.
