Reality TV Summer Premieres

Yesterday, to kick off the first official day of summer, Lifetime announced its reality TV summer premieres.

In addition to a brand new Little Women: LA spinoff, Little Women: Couples Retreat, we have the return of both Dance Moms and Project Runway to look forward to. As for new reality TV shows, get ready for So Sharp, featuring the University of Louisville Dance Team, and Growing Up Supermodels. Look below for more about each premiere.

Little Women: LA star Jasmine Arteaga Sorge

Almost everyone was pregnant during the last season of Little Women: LA, so of course I expected some new reality show babies to be born soon. But for the most part these ladies stay out of the spotlight in between seasons, so it’s not shocking that Jasmine Arteaga Sorge gave birth to her second child back in December 1 and only just announced it.

I like that though, they get the perks of being reality TV cast members and the luxury of keeping some things private like “normal” people who aren’t on television. Plus, from what I’ve seen on the show, pregnancy can take a toll on a little person and her child, so it makes perfect sense to step away from the limelight when a newborn comes into the picture. But now Jasmine is opening up about the new addition to her family.

Little Women: LA recap

I love watching Little Women: LA, but I’m just not here for the drama Christy McGinity keeps stirring up. She was absolutely out of line when she randomly brought Plastic Martyr to a photo shoot Tonya Banks had for her active wear line.

Christy was so insistent on exposing Briana Renee’s husband Matt Ericson for having an Instagram back and forth for the millionth time, and now Tonya is being dragged into a huge mess since Christy and Plastic are accusing her of being transphobic toward Plastic.

The Little Women franchise is conquering reality TV!

After the success of launching Little Women: Atlanta last season, Lifetime execs are in the process of expanding the wildly successful franchise to Dallas. Little Women: Dallas is currently casting and filming. Sources say the ladies are “absolutely stunning” and ready for reality TV!

Emily Fernandez's newborn son

My heart is really aching for Little Women: Atlanta star Emily Fernandez. Watching her deal with her newborn’s son’s health problems on the show made me hopeful that things would turn around soon.

Sadly, that is not the case. Emily’s baby boy passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 after a tough battle that included seizures and trouble breathing.

Little Women: LA

Welcome back to Little Women: LA, the show that never stops filming! It seems like season 4 was just wrapping when BAM! Season 5 is suddenly upon us. I, for one, couldn’t be happier. Lifetime must know that they cannot take a hiatus with these women, lest someone chuck a glass at someone else’s head between seasons. Plus, nearly everyone has had or is having babies these days, so every minute counts. I say, let’s just strap Go Pros to everyone’s heads and be done with it!

When we left off on season 4, Christy McGinity and Terra Jole had temporarily laid down their swords over their altercation at line dancing night, with Christy bitterly reviving the whole mess at the LWLA Reunion. She still claims a concussion diagnosis. Tonya Banks had forced convinced her ex, Kerwin, to leave his lady friend and take up with her. Jasmine Sorge’s hubby was relegated to busing tables at his father in law’s restaurant, having not found work close to home. Elena Gant and hubby Preston were expecting twin boys – awwwww! And Briana Renee and Matt Ericson (Grundhoffer) were, well, how do I put this? A HELLISH MESS. Oh – also, Jasmine’s pregnant, Terra’s pregnant, Briana’s pregnant, you’re pregnant, I’m pregnant (kidding!). It’s a virtual baby bonanza up in here!
