Usually, this time of year is consumed by tax-related worries. April 15 is around the corner, after all. However, that deadline has been pushed to July in response to the coronavirus pandemic. There’s no doubt about it, this is a difficult time for all of us. The coronavirus has changed everything. Essential workers are putting themselves at risk on the front lines. Many people have lost their jobs. So many of us are working at home while taking care of relatives and homeschooling kids. Everyone has had to adjust in some way.
At the very least, there are still some small joys to provide escapism, like reality TV for instance. Some of our readers are binge watching old favorites. Others remember the day of the week based on the new show that is on that night. Yes, there are more important things going on in the world, absolutely. But, at least reality TV has given us all some entertainment and a community for discussion.
The news cycle never stops. Even in a global pandemic, reality stars are thirsting for attention (i.e. going live on Instagram and making embarrassing Tik Tok videos). Not only that, but there are some old episodes and news stories that will be interesting forever. One thing that a lot of reality stars have in common, other than extreme thirst and a propensity for cosmetic enhancement, is an issue with taxes. How do so many public figures think they can get away with not paying taxes when they’re in the spotlight? Can’t they just hire someone to be on top of this? Overall, it makes zero sense, yet it happens a lot. Let’s take a look back at some of the reality TV star tax scandals throughout the years.
Last season of Real Housewives of New Jersey was epic on so many levels. There was the altercation in a clothing boutique, courtesy of Margaret Josephs and Danielle Staub. Margaret poured water on Danielle’s head. Then Danielle dumped out the contents of Margaret’s purse into a lit candle.
Before leaving the shop, Danielle grabbed Margaret’s ponytail and gave it a vicious yank. That looked incredibly painful. In the wildest moment of the RHONJ season, Danielle revealed to Melissa Gorga that Danielle’s bestie Teresa Giudice told Danielle to pull Margaret’s hair.
One of the saddest stories to come out of the Bravo family in a long time was the death of Teresa Giudice’s father, Giacinto Gorga. We all know him as the affectionately named “Nonno” from the show. Nonno passed away on April 3rd and most of his family has opened up their hearts and shared their grief on social media since then. Both Teresa and Joe Gorga’s kids posted loving thoughts and messages on Instagram. So did Joe Giudice, saying of his father-in-law, “Thank you for setting an example for us and my girls-you’re an exemplary example. We benefited from it every day.”
It’s going to be hard to watch Real Housewives of New Jersey without Nonno. Throughout the years, we’ve seen him as the center of his entire family. We even saw his grief when his beloved wife, Antonia Goga died back in 2017. I will never forget watching Nonno cry over missing his wife. But Nonno gave us so many good times on the show and it’s clear that it’s not just his family that will miss him.
During the finale part of the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 10 reunion, Danielle Staub made her “final” appearance as a (part-time) cast member. During that same appearance, she also admitted that she would probably be back. In actuality, she’s hoping she can weasal her way back into the fold somehow.
She also denied being a “rat” because she told Melissa Gorga that Teresa Giudice is the one who encouraged her to pull on Margaret Josephs by her ponytail. Instead, Danielle focused on the semantics. She told the cast and Andy Cohen “ratting somebody out is somebody who goes to prison and gets arrested because someone ratted them out.” That doesn’t quite make sense, but that really is what she said. Click here for a clip of that explanation.
The dramatic Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion has reached its conclusion. This episode is all eyes on Danielle Staub. Her final act as a cast member of this show is coming. It’s sure to be a fiery ending to her run. Also, what will happen with Teresa Giudice and Margaret Josephs‘ friendship? That hair pull might have ruined everything between them forever. I don’t really see how Marge and Tre move forward after that.
Jennifer Aydin has been stealing the show at this reunion, but the other women are sick of it. Melissa Gorga & Jackie Goldschneider are likely hoping Jennifer stays quiet during this final part. Good luck with THAT. She was entertaining, but it started to border on obnoxious. Just. Let. Someone. Else. Speak. PLEASEEEEEE. Can someone convince Dolores Catania to go full Patterson Dolo on her?
Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 10 concludes tonight with Part 3 of the reunion. Last week’s episode left off with Danielle Staub refusing to come out unless she’s sitting next to Andy Cohen.
News flash, Danielle, you are not a full-time cast member and you have not been since Season 2. As we saw in the trailer, Danielle ends up sitting nowhere near Andy. Instead, she’s ostracized to a chair by herself, and she couldn’t be sitting any further from Andy. In a Hail Mary attempt to get next to Andy, Danielle claimed she couldn’t hear Andy at the reunion because of where she sat last year. Sure, Danielle.
Danielle Staub finally burned all her bridges with her Real Housewives of New Jersey co-stars. We saw Margaret Josephs pour water over Danielle’s head in a boutique during an argument. Danielle then retaliated by pouring the contents of Margaret’s purse into a large lit candle. Then, she gave Margaret’s ponytail a good yank. Of course, RHONJ viewers learned that Teresa Giudice encouraged Danielle to pull Margaret’s ponytail. That was a shocker!
But when Melissa Gorga decided to meet Danielle to tell her that none of the Jersey Housewives wanted her around, Danielle spilled her secret about Teresa’s role in Margaret’s hair pull. When Melissa told everyone what Danielle had said, Teresa was shocked that Danielle would sell her out. That was the final straw in their relationship, and Teresa dumped Danielle over the phone. That is so high school.
Danielle Staub is probably one of the hardest housewives to get rid of. Even with her departure on Real Housewives of New Jersey, she has still managed to weasel her way back into the spotlight for various reasons. Usually, it entails some form of short-lived engagement but she also hasn’t stopped gracing our screens on RHONJ.
Perfect example – last season we saw plenty of Danielle for just a friend of, or whatever she was being called at the time. Wedding journey or not, I thought she got way too much screen time. But I suppose she played her bridezilla role to perfection, setting up an epic battle with full-time cast member Margaret Josephs that extended into the current season’s main story line. #JusticeforMargesPonytail. And I guess we should be thankful for that because really, who wants to watch a whole season of Jennifer Aydin arguing with Jackie Goldschneider argue about a kid’s pizza party?
The reality is, Danielle’s appearances on RHONJ seemed to last longer than her marriage to Marty Caffrey. Lucky Marty, ammirite?
