Kelly and Michael Dodd’s divorce has been processed and finalized. Now I just can’t wait for a whole season of single Kelly Dodd and single Shannon Beador going out on the town and turning up. This is exactly what the show needs.
Kelly went from being Vicki’s most loyal friend in the cast to dragging Vicki and boyfriend Steve Lodge on Twitter.
When a couple divorces, it is expected for them to go through child custody negotiations, but what about friendship custody negotiations? Obviously that’s not a legal matter, but sometimes it can be tough to pick sides when two friends break up. Apparently Kelly Dodd and Michael Dodd are sharing custody of Vicki Gunvalson in the wake of their split.
Based on watching Real Housewives of Orange County, I had no idea that Vicki and Michael had any sort of relationship, but it turns out that Vicki’s man Steve Lodge and Michael have a strong bond. Again, this is something I never picked up on, but now Vicki and Steve are hanging with Michael sans Kelly and they found him a new love interest.
It was tough watching Kelly Dodd’s relationship with Michael Dodd fall apart during the last Real Housewives of Orange County season. She talked a lot about the idea of divorcing so their daughter Jolie could have two happy parents.
Kelly announced that she and Michael are divorcing before the season ended and now they are trying to work out the details for the sake of their daughter.
2017 has been a banner year for the cursed reality TV marriage. It seemed like every time we blinked another reality star filed for divorce!
Some were predictable (ahem Luann de Lesseps and Shannon Beador), while others came as a complete surprise (like Little Women: LA‘s Briana Renee FINALLY kicking sleazy Matt Ericson to the curb or Dr. Jackie Walter‘s husband being caught cheating). And in the middle there were a whole host of other unlucky in love really stars. Including a who a few who actually tied the knot ON TV – only to split in front of the cameras as well.
Below is our rundown of 2017’s reality star divorces. Here’s hoping for many less in 2018!
This season, Kelly Dodd joined the ranks of Bravo’s unsurprising divorces. Kelly filed for divorce from Michael Dodd, her husband of 11 years, two months ago after viewers witnessed them fighting and trash talking each other for two seasons on Real Housewives Of Orange County.
Not even some sage advice about marriage and intimacy from Vicki Gunvalson could put MiKelly back together again! Imagine that… (sarcasm). What’s unique about Kelly’s situation, however, is that this is actually the second time she’s filed for divorce from Michael – and this time she hopes to see it through to the finish line. Kelly shares that they’re already working out a custody agreement for Jolie, 12.
Whoever decided to book Kelly Dodd and LeeAnne Locken for the same Watch What Happens Live episode deserves a raise. What a fire pairing. Andy Cohen barely had to do any hosting. These two were more than happy to open up.
Kelly and LeeAnne spilled tea, talked shit, and kept it real as they possibly could.
After a tough start during her first season Kelly Dodd has truly turned things around on Real Housewives of Orange County. She’s giving us the meme and gif-worthy arguments that we live for, but she’s not holding any long grudges. She has struck the perfect Housewife balance and she’s honestly the only one in this cast who has.
Everyone else refuses to interact with each other which makes it feel like I’m watching seven different TV shows spread out over an hour every Monday night. This was supposed to be the lead-in show for Dallas and the Texas women are blowing the OC out of the water this year. Thankfully they’re saving Monday night for the Housewives viewers. But anyway, this season is horrible aside from Kelly’s contributions. Kelly is the only one who is socializing with every other cast member, she brings it with her own personal story lines, and her quotes. I never in a million years thought I would say this, but Kelly is the only reason this season is worth watching. I hope they turn things around, but they’ve spent every episode so far ignoring each other and talking about things that happened two seasons ago. Move on or get off the show.
