Southern Charm’s Craig Conover was a man with a dream. An unusual dream, to be sure. He wanted to make pillows. Craig found something he loved to do and hoped to start a business based on his passion–which is many people’s fantasy, isn’t it? However, Craig wasn’t quite sure how to turn his love of sewing into a business reality, as viewers witnessed over several seasons.
Unfortunately, Craig had many pillow naysayers along the way. Former girlfriend Naomie Olindo was doubtful of his ambition and follow through. Shep Rose made fun of Craig’s lack of direction. Matriarch Patricia Altschul had to put a planned pillow collaboration with Craig on hold because of his inability to complete the work. Co-star Cameran Eubanks has also been hard on Craig over the years. Now, Cameran is making amends for some of the doubt she has expressed about Craig and his pillow dreams.
Craig Conover had a mostly good season on Southern Charm this year, despite some hiccups along the way. He finally kicked it into gear to take steps to get his online pillow business started, which he later called Sewing Down South. Craig moved on from pining over his ex Naomie Olindo. He also revealed at the cast reunion that some of his erratic behavior during the season was due to his problem with Adderall, which he seems to have conquered.
It was exciting to see the positive changes in Craig after years of stagnation. Of course, we all want updates on what he has been up to since last season. Southern Charm fans know that the show usually films in the fall and it appears the cast is not currently filming. Shep Rose even stated on a recent podcast that he didn’t know if there was going to be another season. Say it ain’t so! But, what is the real truth about a possible season 7 of the show?
At this point, it feels like every reality TV has their own podcast. Remove Southern Charm star Shep Rose from that list though. He has thrown in the towel. This is logical considering how Shep’s viewpoints have caused a lot of trouble in recent months.
He had the nerve to make fun of a homeless woman collecting cans and he posted a video with his commentary to social media. He doubled down on his “humor,” refusing to apologize before he eventually did (barely). Shep used to provide Southern Charm viewers with lovable fun, but now it’s just tough to watch.
Can you believe it has been over a month since the finale of Southern Charm? Although it might not have been the most exciting season, it was still enjoyable spending time with the Charleston gang. We watched Cameran Eubanks grow into motherhood. Kathryn Dennis mostly laid low, in the midst of an ugly custody battle with ex Thomas Ravenel. Austen Kroll spent the season in relationship drama with Madison Lecroy. And Shep Rose, well, he somehow morphed into the world’s oldest, angriest frat boy.
Craig Conover had his share of ups and downs during Season 6. He began to move on from ex Naomie Olindo, but later revealed during the reunion that he had been battling a problem with Adderall. Despite Craig’s issues, he finally started to move forward with his pillow business, Sewing Down South. It was great to see him start to come into his own. Craig also just announced another venture into business, Mesu, a Mexican-sushi fusion restaurant in Charleston.
Southern Charm’s Craig Conover has always been a little slow to follow up with his goals. Viewers watched for several seasons while Craig procrastinated about taking the bar exam. His girlfriend at the time, Naomie Olindo, frequently expressed frustration with his easy-going approach to life. Co-star Shep Rose made fun of Craig for his lack of direction. When Craig had an opportunity to partner with Patricia Altschul on a pillow project, he failed to follow through with deadlines and she was forced to put the project on hold.
This year, however, Craig seems to be more ambitious. He has started an online pillow business, Sewing Down South, even selling out in an hour at his first in-store appearance. Now, Craig is expending his horizons even further, with his announcement that he has ventured into the restaurant business.
Naomie Olindo joined Southern Charm as Craig Conover’s girlfriend and a part-time cast member. Now, she’s in a new relationship and she’s a full-time cast member. It’s funny how things change sometimes.
However, it wasn’t actually Craig who initially approached Naomie about joining the cast. It was actually Southern Charm creator (and occasional Kathryn Dennis hookup) Whitney Sudler-Smith. And she claims that he wanted her on board from the very beginning. So, why did it take so long for her to join the cast?
Another season of Southern Charm has wrapped up. The show was more subdued without the drama of Thomas Ravenel, but it was still fun to spend time with the Charleston gang each week.
Charmer Naomie Olindo has been on the show for three seasons, first as the girlfriend of Craig Conover. This year, we saw Naomie working on growing her new business. We also met her new boyfriend, Metul Shah. Naomie is not one to stir up lots of drama with her castmates, but you have to wonder, what does she really think of her Southern Charm co-stars?
Our summer with the folks of Southern Charm has come to a bittersweet end. Sweet because it’s over, and bitter because the story line centered around a withering bromance and toxic romance of an Austen Kroll triangle. The wayward beer enthusiast spent the season entangled in a twisted web, pulled between his snobby, elitist wing man and shrill, roid-raging girlfriend. It wasn’t the stuff of Bravo dreams…that’s for sure!
Andy Cohen welcomes Danni Baird to the sofa before Austen continues to lecture Kathryn Dennis about her admittedly odd Watch What Happens Live appearance. Naomie Olindo interjects to state that a friend of hers witnessed Kathryn drinking before her evening in the clubhouse. Cameran Eubanks had the same snitch friend texting her this intel as well. Kathryn maintains that she didn’t have a sip of alcohol before WWHL, and she’d admit it if she did.
In fact, Kathryn has already shared that she is back to drinking in moderation…whatever that means. Craig Conover reveals that often times the cast has lied about seeing Kathryn drink because they didn’t think she was allowed to drink. Shep Rose agrees that they have all defended Kathryn’s reputation more than she knows.
