Okay, what in the actual hell is happening on Real Housewives of New York? The ratings have fallen faster than Luann de Lesseps’ last marriage, and that’s saying something because she was Mrs. D ‘Agostino for approximately 5 minutes. Eboni K. Williams was highly touted as the new woman on the scene and the first Black cast member, which was supposed to be a compliment to diversity but wound up being an exercise in failure.
Leah McSweeney has been riding the wave of the sophomore curse and may or may not be sinking the boat. The jury is still out on whether or not Leah is an asset or just a complete ass as she navigates a fine line between being woke and plain annoying. Now we’re hearing Ramona Singer is fired, which made Bethenny Frankel smile for the first time in 15 years. Today we receive news that the reunion is on hold, Andy Cohen is having a freak out, and something in the milk definitely ain’t clean in New York.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey’s personal life is flourishing. On October 10, 2020, Cynthia married her man, Mike Hill. Their wedding had over 250 guests, so Bravo peaced out of filming the nuptials for RHOA due to Covid safety issues.
Cynthia isn’t letting any fine women come to her house when her husband is at home, and twerking is a no-no. Mike had a history of cheating on his previous wives, and Cynthia is removing any opportunity.
One of the gifts that keeps on giving is Ms. Sonja Tremont Morgan. Her star shines bright on Real Housewives of New York and no amount of vodka or bad news can dull her sparkle. Sonja kind of lives on a pink cloud of
delusion dogs, rambling stories, and blasts from the past.
Sonja regales her friends with legendary tales of Gstaad and tripping the light fantastic on Diddy’s yacht. Who can forget her close and personal friendship with the likes of JFK Jr. and Madonna? Hell, she probably wrote Like A Virgin and demanded Madge take the credit. Then we have Lady Morgan’s love life. Viewers know there was a Dubin and D ‘Agostino. A Frenchie, a Rocco, and some shirtless artist dude named Bryan. And now Sonja reminds us there was also once a Serhant.
Eboni K. Williams has been having a great freshman season on Real Housewives of New York. The television host and attorney is the franchise’s first Black Housewife. While Eboni and RHONY co-star Leah McSweeney are besties, Eboni has had a bumpy road with some of the other ladies. I give Eboni bonus points for putting up with some of their nonsense.
During the girls’ trip to the Hamptons, Ramona Singer referred to her staff as “the help.” Eboni called her out and explained why the comment was inappropriate.
Eboni K. Williams made history as the first Black Housewife on Real Housewives of New York. Finally! Eboni is a television host, and an attorney.
Her bestie is RHONY co-star Leah McSweeney. Leah had been struggling with the impending death of her beloved grandmother, and Eboni had her back. Eboni handled all of her co-stars’ diva behavior with grace.
What are we all doing here without Dorinda Medley but an abundance of Leah McSweeney? Well, life is full of twists and turns and after six seasons on Real Housewives of New York, Dorinda was asked to “take a pause” from filming to hopefully collect herself and maybe try to soften her vicious tongue. Former co-star Luann de Lesseps said filming sans Dorinda is “less angry” but hopes she will return at some point in the future.
Of course, if you ask everyone’s ray of sunshine, Ramona Singer, “no one missed Dorinda” and her real reason for departing is because she no longer got free rent. Speaking of rent, Dorinda has a black book of important contacts and Million Dollar Listing New York realtor and not unpleasant to look at agent Steve Gold is in that book. Steve needed someone with connections in the Berkshires and I dare say there are fewer people more well-connected than Dorinda. Thankfully Dorinda answered Steve’s call and shows up in a future episode of MDLNY.
Real Housewives of New York has turned into another Real Housewives of Messy Town and it’s becoming all too common lately. Allow me to be completely transparent and say I have no dog in this fight. Both of the people involved usually run their mouths incessantly and saying anything even remotely worthwhile is a rare occurrence. Heather Thompson came back for a few brief appearances on RHONY and to say Leah McSweeney was locked and loaded would be pretty accurate.
Leah was already mad, but the anger is being blamed on her grandmother’s poor health. Before Heather showed up, Leah started lighting matches by pouring over the internet in search of articles containing Heather’s smack-talking. After dinner table dramatics, communications broke down because Leah likes to impress people with her wokeness but Heather clearly knows the Black experience because she has photos with Puff Daddy. So deciding who is more to blame for acting like an idiot is difficult for viewers. According to Heather, if Leah had just stayed home with her ill grandma, all of the drama could have been avoided.
Bethenny Frankel is one of Bravo’s brightest stars and most successful stories. If a viewer were to model themselves by one Bravolebrity, Bethenny is a good one to emulate. She has the money, the name, and has developed her philanthropic efforts to prestigious levels. Beth might have always had that “star power” but attempts to launch her brand remained unsuccessful prior to joining Real Housewives of New York.
After 8 seasons of playing the reality television game, between taking time off to investigate other ventures, Bethenny departed the franchise for bigger and better pursuits. She currently has a gig with HBO and recently revealed her newest wine collection. Beth has proclaimed being on Housewives ruined her credibility in the business world but admits she misses aspects of the show. In a recent interview, she implies RHONY is no longer on her radar, so I suppose it was by sheer coincidence Bethenny revealed her engagement the day the newest season trailer came out.
