After last week’s episode of Southern Charm confirmed the dastardly deed between Kathryn Dennis and Whitney Sudler-Smith, last night’s show focused on the perils of a new couple, Austen Kroll and his Instagalpal Madison LeCroy. I’m not counting out these two…if they can survive a threesome and retaliatory cheating, what’s a little DM action going to hurt?
Naomie Olindo is hard at work at her online apparel business, but she makes some time to Facetime with her adorable parents who are traipsing through Europe. In addition to her new endeavor, she is also helping her family run their Greek restaurant Nico. Speaking of precious parents, Chelsea Meissner’s dad drops off Tyson after dog-sitting him for Chelsea’s house-warming party. They discuss Chelsea’s sailor beau Nick who has a three-year contract in Rhode Island with the America’s Cup. She seems to have a type…and it’s someone who lives far, far away. She likes her space! Her dad wonders how the relationship will work for so long with such distance, but he adores Nick. He’s a man, and Austen’s more of a house cat.
Southern Charm is back tonight with a new episode. Those Kathryn Dennis and Whitney Sudler-Smith hookups are so last summer since she reveals a new boyfriend on tonight’s episode. No, it’s not country singer Hunter Price, her current boyfriend.
Instead, it’s a senator. Yes, apparently she has a type, but at least this one is not significantly older than her…with a criminal record. Or is this guy truly falling in line with her previous dating history? Naomie Olindo is just shocked that Kathryn is dating a Democrat.
We are a few weeks into Season 6 of Southern Charm and it has been great catching up with the gang. Other than this year’s departure of Thomas Ravenel amid a swirl of legal woes, everyone is back for more drinks, dish, and drama. And quirky Eliza Limehouse has been, shall we say, an interesting addition to the show! The season has started out low key, which is fine with me. Probably the most interesting revelation so far has been that Craig Conover has cleaned up his messy house. Which is kind of a miracle!
Matriarch Patricia Altschul was center stage of the first episode, throwing one of her formal dinner parties for people who aren’t always on their best formal behavior. It is difficult to imagine the show without Patricia as she adds class–and spot on commentary–to the series. Patricia, however, recently revealed that she was never meant to be such an integral part of Southern Charm.
Eliza Limehouse knows how to make an impression. Nothing says “I’m awesome” like showing up at Patricia Altschul’s house with
questionable hair extensions Shep Rose and name dropping Thomas Ravenel. That’s what viewers were treated to in her first official appearance as a Southern Charm regular.
For some reason, Eliza felt the way to everyone’s heart was to inform folks how close she is to
the old pervert Thomas and his maybe crazy girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs. During an awkward dinner, she gave fans and Kathryn Dennis ample opportunity to exercise their eye-rolling skills by repeatedly bringing up Thomas’ name. Despite his rep for being an ALLEGED rapist absence from the show and her clumsy attempts to converse with Kathryn, Eliza wants us to know, she’s cool, y’all.
Season 6 of Southern Charm has finally descended upon us. In the premier episode we met Austen Kroll’s new(est) girlfriend, Madison LeCroy. Madison is
a clone of Jessica Simpson currently Patricia Altschul’s hair stylist and friends with Naomie Olindo, so she is already familiar to the group. She is also familiar with Austen’s lies tendency to have his cake and eat it too. After walking in on her beau having dalliances with two other women, she “forgave” him and continued the relationship.
Austen was able to talk his way out of that unfortunate circumstance, I guess it helps to have a television show. He certainly cannot fall back on his ambitious career choices. But what do Austen’s close pals think of his lady friend? In the trailer for the new season, we saw Madison tell Austen she thinks Shep Rose is a “bad influence” on him. But is Shep just an easy target, or does he really have some kind of leverage over how Austen behaves?
Last night’s Southern Charm was swirling with the confirmation of the “did they or didn’t they” hook-up rumors surrounding Kathryn Dennis and Whitney Sudler-Smith. Shep Rose’s love life was once again thwarted by ill-thought Instagram posts, and we got to peek inside Craig Conover’s fledgling pillow company. It doesn’t get much better than that!
The episode begins with Kathryn unable to summon Austen Kroll on any of her smart devices. Across town, Cameran Eubanks is getting some much needed relaxation at the nail salon before being interrupted by Recent College Grad who comes in like a bull in a china shop. She’s got a cooler of kombucha and she can’t stop talking about her last name and her royal status in Charleston society. However, her politician father’s affair caused a serious blacklist for her family. She wasn’t even able to be a debutante! Cameran’s husband has known this girl’s family for decades (he gave her swimming lessons when she was four), and Cam likens her to a little sister. She gives RCG some sisterly advice–she needs tone it down and mind her manners. Cameran reminds RCG that her behavior at Patricia Altschul’s dinner party was over-the-top and obnoxious.
Season 6 of Southern Charm got off to a dramatic start with last week’s premiere episode. It all went down at Patricia Altschul’s dinner party. It was the first time that Kathryn Dennis was a welcomed guest in her home. She was both nervous and excited about the invite. Unfortunately, the new girl ended up giving Kathryn a lot of shit. This is a pattern on Southern Charm at this point.
Eliza Limehouse walked in as
an oddly a very proud friend of Thomas Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs. Who in her right mind would ever brag about that? Claiming those two is not a good way to make friends, girl. However, she wasn’t the only one to stir up the drama. Austen Kroll told Chelsea Meissner that Kathryn and Whitney Sudler-Smith hooked up over the summer. Whitney awkwardly deflected, but, by no means, is the storyline over. It is still a hot topic of conversation during tonight’s episode.
During the first five seasons of Southern Charm, Kathryn Dennis and Patricia Altschul were mostly at odds. Patricia judged Kathryn for her often out of control behavior-and Kathryn judged Patricia for judging her. About the only thing the two seemed to have in common was Patricia’s son Whitney Sudler-Smith, whom Kathryn apparently slept with during Season 1 of the show. Which isn’t exactly a bonding experience!
Patricia also supported Kathryn’s ex Thomas Ravenel time and again over her during their dysfunctional relationship and breakups. But as they say, nothing unites people like a common enemy, in this case, one Ashley Jacobs, sometime girlfriend of Thomas. And probably one of the most-despised reality villains of all time. Last year, Patricia’s friendship with Thomas “un-raveneled” and she even called Ashley a fame whore and a gold digger. Patricia’s falling out with Thomas helped her see Kathryn in a different light. Now the two are unlikely allies.
