Kelly Dodd is back at it again. The Real Housewives of Orange County star is back with another
crap hot take on the coronavirus pandemic. As we all know, this isn’t the first time Kelly has landed in hot water over such statements. Other (former) cast members like Vicki Gunvalson, have also been taken to task about their corona sentiments. But none like Kelly. Maybe because she won’t stop spewing nonsense about it. Just a thought!
Kelly first caught heat for traveling back and forth to New York to be with her fiance, Rick Leventhal. She then went a step further and made a flippant remark about mortality during the outbreak. Kelly’s exact words? “Well, people are going to die.” But she wasn’t done. Kelly also said that maybe coronavirus is god’s way of “thinning the heard”. She later apologized for it, but fans weren’t hearing it and have since turned on Kelly. Who could blame them? Because Kelly has proven she hasn’t learned her lesson.
While Kelly Dodd had a shaky start on Real Housewives of Orange County, she provided fans with plenty of moments that motivated us to root for her. However, it’s just tough to do that lately with all of her coronavirus-related commentary. She said that coronavirus is God’s way of thinning the herd. She also “joked” that people are going to die anyway. And then there was that gathering with her RHOC co-stars Shannon Beador, Emily Simpson, and Braunwyn Windham-Burke. They wore face masks, one that ironically said “6 feet apart.” However, they got in such close proximity to each other for some selfies. They did not seem to be taking the shelter in place order seriously. At all.
Additionally, Kelly has been traveling back and forth from California to New York City, where her fiance Rick Leventhal lives. As an outsider, it’s hard not to have opinions about Kelly’s comments and behavior in relation to the coronavirus. Now, she has even more to say.
Housewives friendships seem to have a different set of rules than regular ones. The ladies of Real Housewives of Orange County have more ups and downs than a roller coaster. Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson and Shannon Beador are they three best friends of Orange County.
The Tres Amigas (Tamra, Vicki, and Shannon) have been through everything together. From uncomfortable dinner parties to divorces and even death. With all of that, they have still managed to come back together for each other when it matters. With Tamra and Vicki not returning for the upcoming season, the ladies may be going their separate ways.
Coronavirus is hitting the world pretty hard. We’ve all been cooped up in quarantine for what feels like forever. While Bravo is doing us a great service by running marathons of various past seasons, it’s not always enough. But we are all in this together, including our favorite Bravolebrities.
It’s reassuring to hear that so many of them are doing their part to make the world a better place right now. Bethenny Frankel is at the top of my list after donating thousands of medical supplies to hospitals in need. Dolores Catania has done similar work, organizing food, medical supplies and even shoes for local healthcare workers. Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz raised money to help their TomTom staff get paid while they are out of work. Tinsley Mortimer and fiance Scott Kluth did something super sweet and donated $10K each to the family of a Bravo editor who passed from the virus. Hell, even Teddi Mellencamp hooked us all up and gave away free workouts so everyone can stay healthy while cooped up. But not all of our Bravolebrities have left us feeling good during the pandemic.
Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge might have said “adios” to Real Housewives of Orange County, but that doesn’t mean we have heard the last of them. I’m sure that’s exactly how they want it too. These two are so joined at the hip, I can’t imagine them doing anything separate at this point.
As viewers of RHOC, we
suffered through watched many seasons of the so-called “Tres Amigas”, which comprised of Vicki, Tamra, and Shannon Beador. But now that Vicki and Tamra have left the show, all that remains is Shannon and her relationships with her current cast mates. That doesn’t seem to be sitting too well with two thirds of the trio.
When Real Housewives of Orange County “OG” Vicki Gunvalson was demoted for Season 14, everyone was
relieved shocked. Then Vicki decided to walk away from the show when she was not given back her orange for the next season.
Tamra Judge followed one day later after she was offered a deal for just three shows. But now it sounds like Tamra will be doing some filming for RHOC Season 15. We don’t yet know the details. Vicki has also said that she is shooting a new reality show with Tamra. But it is clear that neither Tamra nor Vicki can stay out of the Orange County drama.
It was no secret that Bravo was planning to spice things up on Real Housewives of Orange County. Vicki Gunvalson was demoted to a part-time role on Season 14, and ultimately
was supposedly fired chose to leave the show when she didn’t regain her full-time status.
But she wasn’t the only long-time RHOC cast member to jump ship. One day after Vicki’s announcement, Tamra Judge told the world that she was ditching the show. Tamra decided not to accept the paltry 3 episode deal she was offered to tie up her storyline. Wait–Tamra had a storyline?
I don’t know about you but as explosive as it was, the last season of Real Housewives of Orange County wasn’t my favorite. There was such a heavy tone between Gina Kirschenheiter’s ongoing split with her ex and then we had to endure Vicki Gunvalson as a friend of. That alone was enough to send me over the edge. Vicki knew it was her last shot, so she really upped the ante and it was painful to watch. All you Vicki stans just say you hate me right now because I’m going to say that Vicki ruined the season. She might have survived the infamous cancer scam of seasons past but with her standing on the show being threatened, it’s like she committed to taking down as many people as possible.
One of her targets? Kelly Dodd. Now I know the train rumor wasn’t all Vicki’s doing. She might have started it but one very sneaky housewife repeated it – Tamra Judge. “Faith, family and fitness” my ass. I’m pretty sure Jesus wouldn’t advocate spreading rumors about a cast mate engaging in an illicit sex act. But Jesus aside, Tamra said it and was happy for anyone else to take the fall for it. When Kelly confronted her on all her deception, Tamra flipped the script and had the audacity to get mad at Kelly for not believing that she was trying to defend her. Spoiler alert: she wasn’t! As far as villains go, it was quite the power move but it wasn’t enough to save her either. After the season aired, it was announced that neither Tamra or Vicki would be back. In other words, they were fired. Cue the author of this story rejoicing!
