OK so it’s safe to say that most of us know by now that Kelly Dodd is a damn trainwreck. The fired Real Housewives of Orange County star can’t help but offend anyone and everyone in her path who disagrees with her. Whether it’s not getting the backlash for wearing a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat or throwing low-blows regarding peoples’ appearances, Kelly has proved her inability to be a compassionate, kind person.
And she continues to prove that Bravo made the right move by firing her and bringing Heather Dubrow back to save RHOC. Especially after Kelly accused Heather’s son of giving her COVID, and gave a half-hearted apology to avoid being sued by the Dubrow family lawyers. Maybe if she just learned to just SHUT UP she wouldn’t have to make all of these apology videos to combat her rightfully-owed backlash. Shouldn’t she be focusing on finding a new job for her and her husband Rick Leventhal by now? Or literally finding ANY other somewhat productive way to spend her time.
I still can’t believe that Heather Dubrow will be back for Season 16 of Real Housewives of Orange County. My biggest Bravo wish came true! I can’t wait to see “Fancy Pants” and her $21 million dollar mansion. I’ll bet it has a champagne fountain.
Of course, three RHOC stars were let go from the franchise. Braunwyn Windham-Burke was handed her walking papers after two tumultuous seasons. Elizabeth Lyn Vargas was also fired. Kelly Dodd’s ouster wasn’t really a shock.
Real Housewives don’t always leave quietly. Even less so for veterans with big egos like Vicki Gunvalson. She’s the OG of the OC, and probably feels a sense of entitlement in sharing her opinion about anything Real Housewives of Orange County.
And certainly there’s a lot to talk about. RHOC just had a big cast shakeup. Elizabeth Lyn Vargas, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Kelly Dodd Leventhal were all axed after completing Season 15. Tamra Judge is hinting at a return to the series, and alum Heather Dubrow’s comeback has been confirmed.
What’s a more polarizing topic these days than Coronavirus? It’s 2021 and still we are divided over personal responsibility, mask-wearing, and mandatory vaccines. Is anybody not over it at this point? And if you’re one of those people that enjoys a little escapism by following reality TV, unfortunately these issues have long ago found their way into the lives of our favorite Bravo-lebrities.
Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd Leventhal, for one, was playing loose and fast with the pandemic since March 2020 when she flew to New York just before lock down to shack up with then-fiance Rick Leventhal. She and the former FOX News anchor seemed to take the pandemic lightly since…..March 2020. From the need to wear masks, the severity of COVID-19, and a celebratory “super spreader” event. It’s a true feat that she and Rick did not catch the virus until New Years Eve 2021. And even in that situation, Kelly managed to infuse some drama.
I know what you’re thinking — why is Kelly Dodd still getting any attention following her firing from the Real Housewives of Orange County. Trust me, I feel the same — I’d love nothing more than to never have to write Kelly Fraud’s name ever again. But unfortunately, Kelly is thirsty for attention and it’s obvious she and Rick Leventhal need to find some way to make a buck after both losing their jobs. We all just have to be patient, the day will come when Kelly will truly be completely and totally irrelevant. Someday, kids, someday.
Kelly, to no surprise, has NOT taken the time since she was booted from RHOC to reflect on her bad behavior that got her the pink slip in the first place. No, she blames Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her conservative viewpoints for that. My eyes cannot roll any further back into my head. And she’s too busy saying every nasty thing in the book about her former co-stars and trying not to get sued by Heather Dubrow’s lawyers. Thank god Fancy Pants is making a return — I don’t think I could handle another second of Kelly or Braunwyn on my TV.
Oh Kelly Dodd, Kelly Dodd. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star is nothing short of unraveling since she was fired from the show. But don’t worry, to all of those Kelly fans out there, Braunwyn Windham-Burke got the boot too. And good riddance to both of them as Heather Dubrow is swooping in to bring wealth, class and plenty of champs to the OC. And Heather may even make even a cameo from Tamra Judge possible (and Braunwyn, if she finds a way to weasel that in).
Kelly has always been the antithesis of if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it at all. And it’s only gotten worse since the RHOC cast shake-up was announced. She’s been particularly vile toward Boringwyn, whom she blames for her getting a pink slip from Bravo in the first place. That, or the fact that she’s a conservative. Whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night. But to be clear, I’m totally in agreeance that Braunwyn was a lot of what was wrong with Season 15.
At the beginning of Season 11 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, it seemed as though Teresa Giudice and Jackie Goldschneider would never be friends. Let’s get this straight — Jackie started as a fan, while Tre is the queen B of RHONJ. And Jackie was coming for her, and we all know what can happen when you try to go against Teresa and her four dorters. The analogy heard around the world was seemingly the nail in the coffin. But then, shockingly, Tre showed some growth. Just a little, but a lot for her.
By the RHONJ reunion, the two made up and even made plans to go on a double date. Yes, Evan Goldschneider was opening to hanging with the woman who spread rumors about him cheating on Jackie. That takes being a bigger person, and Tre looks like she may actually be learning a thing or two about accountability. Hell has frozen over.
Kelly Dodd, Kelly Dodd, Kelly Dodd. What are going to do with you? Since the announcement of her firing, Kelly has been ripping through the media doing her best to smear her replacement, Heather Dubrow. She’s also gone on quite the anti-Braunwyn Windham-Burke campaign too (though that’s hardly news). While Kelly will be off our screens during the upcoming season of Real Housewives of Orange County, it looks like we have yet another orange-clinger.
Kelly will be joining the gone-but-won’t-leave-us-alone ranks with her former co-stars Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson. Is there any other franchise with this many lurkers? Am I the only one feeling awkward?
