Last night’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta officially brought the show back to its glory days, and surprisingly it is Porsha Williams and Kandi Burruss who are stealing the show! At least for me anyway…
Ever since Mama Joyce disappeared into the streets, Kandi’s personal storylines have been as exciting as watching
Kaela and Todd talk/not-talk paint dry at OLG restaurants. Instead, Kandi has emerged as a sort of omnipotent narrator. A centrist who’s not going be anyone’s ally or enemy. Case in point, she meets Nene Leakes for lunch and has no problem questioning NeNe’s behavior in a way that is direct, but not confrontational.
Kandi is suspicious of NeNe’s invitation from the get-go. The last time they came face to face was at the reunion, where NeNe basically called her irrelevant. But, now, NeNe has been seeing a
crisis PR manager life coach. She is reformed so she’s trying to rebuild her career friendships. Basically, if no one on the actual cast will film with her, she has no place in the show. Which honestly that is why NeNe shouldn’t be ON the show.
Last night the Real Housewives Of Atlanta were read, right and blue when Cynthia Bailey threw her annual “BaileyQue” (for the second consecutive year in a row). Of course, one person was glaringly absent from the guest list, and that would be Nene Leakes!
Since NeNe can’t find anyone else to film with her she has to make amends with her lackey, Marlo Hampton. NeNe has Marlo and her nephews over for lunch (to spill high tea?), and also drags blast from the unfortunate past, Yovanna along. You’ll remember Yovanna as “that bitch” who got super drunk at some weird boob-themed couples dinner and accused Eva Marcille of pretending not to remember her from college.
Real Housewives of Atlanta fans have seen Kandi Burruss and husband Todd Tucker struggle to conceive their second child together. She recently revealed that she and Todd have two girl embryos left.
Kandi and Todd already have a three-year-old son named Ace Tucker. Kandi has sixteen-year-old daughter Riley Burruss from a previous relationship and Todd’s daughter Kaela is twenty-two. Soon, they will add another baby to their family!
Sometimes I don’t realize how old I’m getting until I see photos of other people’s kids. Allow me to present, Exhibit A: Kandi Burruss’ eldest child, Riley. When we first met Riley on Real Housewives of Atlanta, she was a shy little girl being raised by her single mother. Over the years, viewers have watched Kandi try to navigate a relationship with Riley’s father, who hasn’t played a large role in his daughter’s upbringing. Through the twists and turns of Kandi’s life, Riley was by her mom’s side. Now she is practically a grown woman and ready to take on the world.
Kandi’s daughter has definitely gone through some changes. Riley gained a stepfather in Todd Tucker. His daughter was brought into the Burruss group as well. Then Todd and Kandi welcomed their son, Ace, in 2016. Riley has always presented as bashful and not particularly outspoken, but being raised in the spotlight isn’t easy. We’ve never seen Riley engage in, shall we say, other activities of celebrity children. As a testament to her overall goodness, Kandi gifted Riley a Porsche Cayenne for her Sweet Sixteen last year. Nicki Minaj even had special floor mats made with Riley’s nickname! Well, it’s that time again, another birthday to celebrate. But Riley didn’t get a fast ride this year, she took to social media with another idea.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss has been very open with her struggle to balance career and family time. In last week’s episode, the cast did their version of rose and thorn during their last dinner in Japan. Eva Marcille asked the ladies to discuss the highs and lows they have in their lives right now.
Kandi gushed her “highs” are all about how amazing all of her businesses are doing. For her “lows,” she admitted she struggles to find time for her family. She explained this is why her husband Todd Tucker and her daughter Riley Burruss aren’t too thrilled with her desire to have another baby. Apparently, fans of the show are also upset over Kandi’s work life balance.
Real Housewives of Atlanta vet, Kandi Burruss has been ensconced in the Celebrity Big Brother House since January 21. Her husband Todd Tucker has been vigilant on social media requesting fans to vote for Kandi as America’s Favorite Houseguest. The winner of this illustrious honor receives $25,000, so Todd is “invested” (see what I did there) in Kandi bringing home the prize.
It is safe to say Todd feels Kandi’s celebrity friends have not shown enough support for the working mom. He recently shared encouraging words for Kandi, and thinly veiled threats for others, to keep the $25,000 hope alive.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers know that Kandi Burress is uber competitive. We can’t wait to see how her competitive prowess plays out on this season of Celebrity Big Brother.
Kandi won’t be the first Real Housewife to be a Big Brother houseguest. In its first season, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, Brandi Glanville, made it to day 24 out of 26 after two back to back nominations for eviction. What will be Kandi’s strategy to avoid getting
dragged in this b*tch put on the block?
