We can’t cover every news story ourselves. Fortunately, there are a lot of great sources for reality TV news and gossip. Check out these links from some of our favorite sites in the July 6 edition of Monday Morning Tea.
It appears no one can save demoted Real Housewives of Orange County star, Vicki Gunvalson from her own mouth. In a superhuman effort to remain pertinent to the cast, Vicki has inserted herself into all kinds of controversial content. Even though Vicki’s status went from “in a relationship” to “it’s complicated” with her orange, she still plays a heavy role on the show. Unfortunately, her way with
rumors words might have earned her more clapbacks than a standing ovation.
Without Vicki, there would have been no sex train this season. We wouldn’t have a nickname for Brown Wind Windham-Burke. And viewers would be remiss to have escaped Vicki’s annual visit to the hospital during a cast trip. While Vicki’s campaign to come back full time has been rammed down our faces, some viewers and cast members feel it might be time for her to go once and for all. Now, Vicki’s words have gotten her into hot water once again. Condragulations, honey!
Whether you agree with the results or not, the people have spoken. The People’s Choice Awards went down on November 10 and there were some big winners in the reality TV categories. And even the people who didn’t win showed up
to get some press enjoy the party.
I’m not gonna lie, I wish I got an invite because there were cast members from some of my favorite shows in attendance and I would just love to see them all interact. Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, The Bachelor, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians cast members showed up for the award show.
There are a lot of categories at the Emmy Awards, which is why they have a separate show solely for the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Even with the first day of the awards, there were still a lot of awards to sit through during the main show.
No need to watch the whole broadcast if you recorded it. If you missed the Emmy Awards, don’t worry, we got you. We have compiled a list of winners from the categories you care about: the reality TV awards, of course. It was a major night for RuPaul’s Drag Race and Queer Eye.
Oh Dorinda Medley and Sonja Morgan, it’s time to make it nice! The stars of Real Housewives of New York made a major faux pas at New York Fashion Week. Neither can be accused of keeping quiet when something is on their mind. Dorinda has had many alcohol-fueled debates with her co-stars. Lady Morgan is the resident poster child for AARP candidates wanting to live their twilight years to the fullest. That’s all fine and dandy until their observations about life spill over into the general population.
Sonja and Dorinda were at NYFW to catch their girl, Tinsley Mortimer in a runway show. Tins was walking for designer Garo Faro. You might remember Garo’s designs from his stint on Project Runway. As the two RHONY vets sat in the front row, they chatted throughout the show. Unfortunately, bits of their conversation was recorded. Their candid remarks about some of the models have now opened the door for a lesson in social etiquette, acceptance, or just keeping your mouth shut.
Confession: I can sit through 1oo’s of hours of “unscripted television,” but I have never once made it through an awards show. Except maybe the MTV VMAs one year while I was in college. And even then, I only made it through because I was too hung over to move from the couch where my roommates were watching.
However, I do find the People’s Choice Awards fascinating. Because the awards are voted on by the viewers, it makes for some… interesting results. For example, last year’s nominees for “Drama Movie of the Year” included Red Sparrow and A Quiet Place – both legitimate movies with plots and acting and character development. Wanna know what movie won? “Fifty Shades Freed.” That’s right, we the viewers chose soft porn over a movie starring Academy Award-winning Jennifer Lawrence and one starring America’s favorite human, Jim Halpert. America’s voting habits make me nervous.
