Exclusive Interview With The Survivor: HHH Contestant Voted Out of Episode 7 – Spoilers!

The merge is normally a joyous occasion in the game of Survivor, coming at a much-needed time for most. But the game always continues, or as Ryan said this Wednesday, “this is the playoffs now.” For one unfortunate soul, their playoff dreams were cut short, and despite making the merge, this person managed to fall just shy of the jury.

Survivor: HHH Episode 7 Recap: Battle Lines Have Been Drawn

The merge episode is always one of the most exciting, pivotal moments of each and every season of Survivor. Quite often, it sends the game down a path that can be traced right back to it. With just 12 players left heading into Wednesday night’s episode, we were down to five Healers, four Heroes and three Hustlers, all of whom were still alive and vying for that million dollar prize. But battle lines were definitely drawn during Episode 7, and it resulted in what was a pretty shocking and eventful Tribal Council.

Please remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 7 of Survivor: HHH, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add too that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, and is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Exclusive Interview With The Survivor: HHH Contestant Voted Out of Episode 5 – Spoilers!

We’re inching our way towards the merge, as we have now said good-bye to a fifth contestant this season on Survivor. Already over a third of the way through the game, there have been a few blindsides and a few tense Tribal Councils, but mostly, we’ve said good-bye to players that weren’t long for the game or that haven’t been given all that much air-time through five episodes. That being said, tonight’s big decision by one player could end up being a pivotal moment in the game that we look back on and wonder “what if” this person would have chose differently?

Another one bites the dust courtesy of a blindside. Well, everybody except the person voted out might have seen it coming, but it’s always tough to see someone’s dreams crushed on national television (OK, so it’s kind of amusing…). The theme of Survivor this week was love, but as we are now down to fifteen, clearly there will be more broken hearts to follow.

My Kisses Are Very Private

If you’re a long-time fan of Survivor, you probably know and/or follow Gordon Holmes (and if you don’t or aren’t, then please do!). Gordon has been covering Survivor since Season 17, “Survivor: Gabon,” and is one of the top Survivor press members out there. He is the curator of the Survivor Hall of Fame and covers Survivor for XfinityTV.com with weekly recaps, exit interviews, and his trusted “Survivor Power Rankings.”

Nearly as long as I’ve been covering Survivor professionally (since Season 20, “Heroes vs. Villains“), I’ve been chatting with Gordon Holmes on my Podcast. Typically we chat prior to the beginning of each season, but we thought it would be interesting to switch things up this season and chat during Season 35. Keep reading for some highlights from my most recent interview with Gordon and for a link to the full Podcast discussion.

Another contestant bit the dust this week on Episode 2 of Survivor, in another unanimous vote. As another contestant mentioned this week, “Strong isn’t always what you need,” but ultimately the tribe went with strength over loyalty when they trimmed their tribe by one.

I'm a Wild Banshee

Personalities began to shine through and strategic players and partnerships started to take form during Episode 2 of Survivor: HHH. It was a very welcome change of pace following last week’s over-stuffed and rushed premiere episode. This episode took its time, gave us a lot of insight as to how the players are starting to align and ultimately ended with your standard “is it him or her?” question entering a pretty tame Tribal Council.

Please remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 2 of Survivor: HHH, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add too that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, and is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

I'm Not Crazy, I'm Confident

So is that an Idol in your pocket, or are you just happy that Survivor is back? Not only did the show kick off its 35th season Wednesday night, but the premiere episode also gave us an impromptu strip search! Woohoo! Add that to the more than one reference about getting into people’s pants, and you’d have to agree that this season got crazy real quick. It looks to be that kind of cast, apparently.

But not everything was loose and care-free tonight, as the first three days in the game have already produced a few confrontations, a “Super Idol” and a head-scratcher of a Tribal Council. If you’re just starting to follow this column, I welcome you and hope you join us all season! Please remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Premiere Episode of Survivor: HHH, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add too that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, and is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together. I’m stoked to be back, so let’s get to it!
