Well, last night we finally got to see the two minutes of cocktail chaos that Southern Charm has been teasing us with all season! While the party crash was anti-climatic, the real drama was the demise of a bromance and the rise to fame of those elusive ladies from the cell phone footage…let’s dig in, shall we?
Kathryn Dennis and Patricia Altschul are shopping at Gwynn’s and exploring fifty shades of Gucci. As they try on shoes for Pat’s upcoming cocktail party, the pair gossip about Shep Rose’s horrible attitude towards Austen Kroll’s relationship with Madison LeCroy. Patricia reveals what we’ve all known–Shep despises Madison because she once rebuffed his advances. Color me shocked by that news!
Shep Rose has had quite a season on Southern Charm. His witty personality and the size of his
ego wallet made him one of the more watchable characters in the past. Eternally single, his lack of relationship and hilarious antics became a recurring theme of the show. As his popularity quickly increased, Bravo spawned a spin-off program for the favored bachelor, chronicling his search to find love. Spoiler alert, he didn’t find love.
We have seen another side of Shep this year. A side not quite so charming, a tad less humorous than in the past. Austen Kroll’s girlfriend, Madison LeCroy has been the new target of Shep’s thinly-veiled insults. Shep has been unable to hide
being butthurt his disparaging thoughts on his friend’s relationship. Shep even referred to Madison as “white trash,” a taunt not lost on his castmates. He also implied Austen needs to control his woman, as Madison is not one to slink away from Shep’s petty intimidation attempts. While Madison’s mouth has gotten her into a caldron of hot water, Shep is not to be outdone. Recently, the 39-year-old man pulled a stunt. Another action he thought was terribly amusing. In the wake of posting an extremely insulting video of a homeless woman, Shep is hiding trying to manage the fallout of his ignorance.
Can you believe that the season finale of Southern Charm is next week? With the absence of Thomas Ravenel, the show has not been as dramatic as in the past. However, one cast member’s ugly accusation turned the show upside down a few weeks ago. Austen Kroll’s sometime girlfriend Madison Lecroy accused Shep Rose of giving Danni Baird chlamydia.
The season-long animosity between Shep and Madison escalated at the end of the cast Colorado trip in a dangerous game of one-upmanship between the two. Poor Danni was the collateral damage in their dispute. To me, the accusation is one of the all-time most uncomfortable reality television moments. Apparently, some of the Southern Charm cast feels the same way.
There are few reality stars that are almost universally liked. Southern Charm’s Danni Baird is one of them. Although she is not a full-time cast member, Danni leaves her mark on the show by being kind, gracious and loyal. Unfortunately, Danni is not always treated the same way. Loud-mouthed Madison Lecroy alleged on a recent episode that Shep Rose had given Danni chlamydia when they dated. No one deserves that, especially not Danni.
Danni has also been a loyal friend to Kathryn Dennis through the years. Even when her co-stars have not supported Kathryn, Danni has been at her side. Recently, their friendship got Danni caught up in the Kathryn and Thomas Ravenel custody battle drama in a way she probably never expected.
After Madison LeCroy spewed the accusation heard ’round Bravo world, Shep Rose gave Austen Kroll an ultimatum, and Cameran Eubanks realized she’d never get her groove back, the crew could relax on the manufactured drama and rely on the unhinged villain fans love to hate. That’s right…last night’s Southern Charm brought back Ashley Jacobs who just can’t help herself when it comes to confronting Kathryn Dennis.
Chelsea Meissner is meeting her absolutely adorable father some good food and great atmosphere. They discuss Chelsea’s boyfriend and her decision not to go into business with Madison. After Madison’s Rocky Mountain outburst, Chelsea is worried how Madison would react if they ever had a professional disagreement. Very good point, Chelsea.
When Austen Kroll joined Southern Charm, he was deemed the “New Shep Rose” and touted as the golden boy of the show, which are, clearly, two very contradicting descriptions. Nevertheless, Austen shed that golden boy persona last season when ex-girlfriend Chelsea Meissner claimed that she was his short-lived sugar mama, picking up the tab on dates.
This season has revolved around Austen’s relationship drama with
Shep Madison LeCroy. It started with that infamous video where Madison caught Austen with two women, while they were dating. Now, this season seems to revolve around their ups and downs. No one can say that Austen isn’t bringing it this year. However, the same cannot be said about some of his co-stars. There are plenty of people on this show who aren’t pulling their weight, just getting by commenting on other people’s storylines. Now, Austen is calling them out. Or at least he plans to at the reunion.
