By now you have heard about the hot water Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis put herself in. Kathryn shared a tense message exchange with an African American woman, defending her support of the President. While that is not a racist act in itself, screenshots of the conversation have been made public. At best, Kathryn is severely lacking in tact.
In an attempt to make a point during the correspondence, Kathryn used a monkey emoji. Naturally, this was extremely offensive to the recipient and because the context of the conversation centered around race. The monkey emoji was not seen as a gesture of amusement, but a definitive act of discrimination. Kathryn has apologized for the incident and promised to make a public statement of remorse, which has yet to occur. Now Kathryn is addressing her mistake on social media again, and offers another apology.
And now Scheana Marieis sharing her not-so-glowing review of Shep’s wedding… performance, if you will. She admitted that she had every intention of hooking up with him that weekend, but it just didn’t happen, thanks to alcohol.
Ah, the perils of becoming a reality TV star. It’s easy in the beginning to think of the thrills, the ego boost, the money, and the increased social media presence. But what happens when fans turn on you. Just ask Below Deck Sailing YachtChief Stew Jenna MacGillivray.
Anyone following the season may not be surprised that Jenna has become the pariah of the crew. She was brusque with her team, and engaged in extremely unprofessional PDA with Chef Adam Glick. There was never a missed opportunity to tell subordinates that they had no right to an opinion, even on crew nights off the boat. With all the fan backlash, it’s worth questioning whether Jenna has done any retrospection since filming wrapped.
One of the best things that has come out of quarantine is the throwback marathons on Bravo. There’s something so nostalgic about watching our beloved Bravo stars before they had stylists and plastic surgery. Ah, simpler times. It’s fun to see where the stars we know today started from.
And apparently, I’m not the only one who appreciates the old school rawness of seasons past. Vanderpump Rulesstar Lala Kent has been catching up on previous seasons of VPR while stuck at home with her fiancé Randall Emmett. Lala has come a long way since her hostess days at Sur. But her biggest takeaway? Her new face.
Reality Tea is proud to announce that we’re collaborating with our fellow Evolve Media LLC websites for #WeSayThanks. This is campaign to thank and raise money for essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
#WeSayThanks coincides with Police Week, Public Works Week, and National Medical Services Week. We have also created a limited-edition T-shirt, with the promise to donate $5 from each sale to charities that support our essential workers and their families during this difficult time.
We understand that the pandemic has affected everyone in some way or another. Charity should be about contributing what you are comfortable with and able to do. It is completely understood that not all of our readers are in the market for a philanthropic t-shirt. That is completely OK! Whether or not you purchase a shirt, we would love it if you joined our initiative by telling us who you are thankful for in the comments section of this article or on Twitter with the hashtag #WeSayThanks. A simple “thanks” goes a long way.
We would also like to thank some reality TV stars who have given back during the coronavirus pandemic. And, of course, we want to thank everyone who has given their time and money during this time, especially those who are not in the public eye. We appreciate you!
Southern Charm viewers know Cameran Eubanks as the “normal” cast member since she has had zero drama on the show. Well, now she’s known as a former cast member. Last week the news broke that Cameran will not be returning to the show for another season. She has served as the voice of reason. She narrated every episode. However, her life was never at the center of the action.
Last week’s announcement of a mass exodus ofSouthern Charm stars is dredging up a lot. Naomie Olindo, Chelsea Meissner, and Cameran Eubanks all announced that they would not be returning next season. Since then, alums Landon Clements, Ashley Jacobs, and Thomas Ravenelhave all made statements denouncing the show. And one name has been coming up a lot in the midst of it all. Kathryn Dennis. The show underdog has come a long way since her first season. She became a social outcast during her time with Thomas; slighted from PatriciaAltschul’sfabulous dinner parties. Those kind of invites make or break you in Charleston. This is old news though. Why is Kathryn’s name coming up so much now? And does Kathryn have anything to do with the exiting cast falling out of love with their amazing reality TV gig?
