Sometimes, life is a matter of perspective. Instead of being “stuck” at home because of the pandemic, it might feel better to view the situation as being “safe” at home instead.
Of course, what’s going on the world right now should not be minimized, not by any means. Nevertheless, a lot of people with “non-essential” jobs are at home. Some are homeschooling their children. Others have turned their living rooms into an office. Most of the people who are reading this have been watching a lot of reality TV shows- in the background, while fulfilling responsibilities, of course. Well, Bravo knows that fans are looking for premium programming. And, no, I’m not trying to re-watch an episode of a show that I just watched last week.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the world has really learned what and who is essential. Our healthcare workers. Our grocery store clerks. Our transit workers. These are the people that are keeping our world going during this crazy time we’re living in. They have become our everyday heroes.
But it seems Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis has a different definition of essential. The mother of two recently caught some heat for posing with her friends on Instagram, sparking a debate as to why she is not practicing social distancing. But things went from bad to worse when she shared her most recent activities to her Instagram stories.
We can’t cover every news story ourselves. Fortunately, there are a lot of great sources for reality TV news and gossip. Check out these links from some of our favorite sites in the May 5 edition of Tuesday Morning Tea.
Another reality TV bachelor may be off the market ladies! Shep Rose is known for being a confirmed Peter Pan-type frat boy who refuses to settle down. His single ways and aversion to commitment have long been chronicled on both Southern Charm and his own dating show, Relationshep.
Shep left his dating show without finding love and returned to Charleston as a single man. But now a new social media post suggests there may be a new serious lady in his life.
Southern Charm’s Cameran Eubanks has made a career of being a reality TV star without exhibiting any of the behaviors of one. She is rational, polite, mature, and supportive of her friends. Cameran is great at giving advice too and that extends offscreen as well.
In early April, just before stay-at-home orders were issued in her home state of South Carolina, Cameran made a public plea for officials to issue social distancing measures. She addressed South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster directly about his lackadasical approach to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, only two week later, McMaster is already reversing the lockdown.
Even with the quarantine, plenty of reality TV stars celebrated Easter. Some of them even dressed up to eat dinner in the dining room, which is way more than what I did. Props to them.
Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley wore bunny ears in the Berkshires. Margaret Josephs spent some quality time with her mom, Marge Senior. Terry Dubrow, Heather Dubrow, and their kids all wore matching Easter pajamas. I had no idea that was a thing. But, again, they put a lot more effort into getting dressed than I did yesterday.
Do you remember Joe Abruzzo? No worries if you don’t, I barely do. For anyone who needs a refresher, he briefly dated Kathryn Dennis last season on Southern Charm. It truly seemed like Kathryn has a type: an older man in politics. However, the relationship was pretty short-lived, unlike her saga with Thomas Ravenel that went on way too long.
When they split, Kathryn claimed that they broke up after some encouragement from her friends who apparently didn’t like the way Joe spoke to Kathryn. Well, now, way after the fact, Joe is suing Southern Charm cast members and the Bravo network for $10 million. Why? You’re gonna laugh about this one.
Cameran Eubanks is a bit of a mother hen to the rest of the cast, except for Patricia Altschul of course. She brought a sense of maturity to Southern Charm, not only in her professional life, but also in the dignified way she handled herself during all the cast conflicts. Cameran has not had a single slip since Season 1 as an original cast member.
Cameran dishes out a lot of support and is always available for her friends. Shep Rose and Craig Conover were often on the receiving end of her advice. Offscreen, Cameran is adopting the same role towards her community. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Cameran has been using her celebrity to get aid to health care workers and also to advise the public on proper social distancing practices.
