Joao Franco Reveals His Below Deck Mediterranean Dream Team

It’s the question that gets posed time and time again to the cast of Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean.  Who’s on your yachtie dream-team?  For this season, the Med crew was pretty solid after microwave operator Mila Kolomeitseva left.  Anastasia Surmava did an admiral job as chef until she stepped aside for Ben Robinson to saunter back into our livesJune Foster only made a favorable impression on smitten Colin Macy O-Toole, but her tenure was also short-lived.

So we are finishing the season with the original squad, plus an actual chef.  Captain Sandy Yawn has been dishing out the hugs in proper mother hen fashion.  What can be better than that?  Well, according to Bosun Joao Franco, there is one person that could improve at their job.

Below Deck Mediterranean Chef Ben Robinson “Jokes” That Hannah Ferrier “Tried To Rape” Him; Says She Came Onto Him “Very Aggressively”

There’s a lot of tension in the Below Deck Mediterranean galley ever since Ben Robinson returned. The audience was relieved to have Ben back on television, but First Stew Hannah Ferrier was not happy about his resurgence. At all.

Longtime Below Deck Med viewers might recall Season 1 of the show when Hannah had an interest in Ben. After a crew night out, she tried to make a move on him, but he rebuffed her advances. Instead, she saw firsthand when Ben had sex with Tiffany Copeland. Ouch. Talk about awkward. However, that was basically a whole lifetime ago, especially since this show changes up its cast so often. Could that encounter be why Hannah was mad about Ben’s return? Or was she just done with all of the chef drama from Season 4?

This has definitely been a frustrating charter season for Below Deck Mediterranean star Hannah Ferrier. She had tension with pretty much everyone on the boat except for Lauren Cohen– and then there’s that whole hookup with a charter guest and what I’ve started to call iPad-gate.

The drama sounds like a lot to handle and then on top of that she actually has a job to do which seems like a whole lot of work.

Below Deck - Season 1

Remember when Below Deck was just a newborn babe of a Bravo show, and chief stew Adrienne Gang was the center of the entire crew’s disdain? Well, Adrienne sure does! And she is a teensy bit bitter about how easy the chief stews since season one have had it. At least, that’s the way she sees it!

To be fair, Adrienne was consistently tortured by her second stew, Samantha Orme, who perma-smirked her way through her entire stint aboard Honor, undermining Adrienne’s management efforts at every turn. Adrienne claims, “I think the chief stews since me have had it a lot easier than I did with the girls that they had. The girls that they had actually wanted to do work.”

Below Deck Season 4

Below Deck Mediterranean hit the airwaves this past summer, presenting another look at the Below Deck franchise in other waters. Kate Chastain, the awesomely snarky chief stew on Below Deck’s original series, gave Bravo her take on the Med spinoff and its season one cast members. Her basic assessment: They were great! Oh, except for Bryan Kattenburg. Yeah, he still sucks.

Kate especially loved seeing friend and coworker Ben Robinson star in the crossover series, especially enjoying his prowess with the ladies. She jokes, “I was just talking to Ben two days ago and said, ‘You know, [the] next season you do, you need to go for [hooking up with] three cast members in one season – like the Ben Grand Slam.”

Below Deck Season 4

No sooner did Ben Robinson break free from the Ionian Princess (and Danny Zureikat’s petulant whining) on Below Deck Mediterranean than he was climbing aboard Valor to sail the Caribbean for season 4 of the original Below Deck. And, he admits, he’s exhausted.

“It’s a lot,” confesses Ben of hopping from one charter season to another with no break in between. “I mean, I think I was just kind of on a rollercoaster ride when I showed up.” Usually, the crew get a chance to “gather themselves” in between filming seasons. But not so for Ben. “I was just thrown straight into the fire again. It was different.”

Reality TV Listings - Below Deck Mediterranean

Rejoice, fans of Below Deck Mediterranean! The Ionian Princess has not sailed quietly into that good night. No, it (or another equally dilapidated yacht) will be hosting another group of maladjusted adults on board for season two in the Greek Isles!

So, who will return? It’s a mystery for now, but we can safely say deckhand and poetry bard Danny Zureikat will not be among the season 2 returnees. His donkey ride home was (let’s hope) a one-way excursion.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season Finale recap

Just when Below Deck Mediterranean was really starting to heat up, it ended out of nowhere – or at least that is how I viewed it. Everything was just getting juicy and then it ended.

And it got wild during the finale episode when Ben Robinson and Tiffany Copeland had sex…on the same night he kissed Hannah Ferrier. The whole web of Below Deck Med hookups just got so messy and I’m all for it. So with all that craziness, I cannot help being curious about who stayed in touch and actually hangs out after the season wrapped.
