True Tori

Disney On Ice Rockin' Ever After

Did Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott fake their adulTORI to land a reality TV show?

Last year the couple came out as broke and super hard-up for money. After a reality TV project about them moving to a cabin with their 4 kids failed to take off, Dean's mistress, the comically named Emily Goodhand, emerged in the tabloids and shortly after Dean entered rehab for undisclosed (ahem… sex) addictions.

And the reality TV offers came pouring in again! A spurned and furious Tori was reportedly using True Tori to humiliate her husband and was one step away from filing for divorce while Dean groveled for another chance. As you recall, Tori and Dean got together when they were still married to other spouses.

Now, according to the sleuths at Jezebel, Tori and Dean may be faking the scandal to revitalize their stagnant reality careers! A breakdown of the evidence is below.

The Helping Hand Of Los Angeles Annual Mother's Day Luncheon

Let's say your husband cheated on you and you had the opportunity to humiliate him on national TV. You would do it, right? Well that is just what Tori Spelling plans to do on her new Lifetime show True Tori. At least according to insiders, who claim that she is looking to 'humiliate' her husband Dean McDermott for his extramarital affair.

In December, the story broke that McDermott had cheated on his wife of seven years with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand. Looking to repair the damage, McDermott checked into rehab for "health and personal issues". But the damage had already been done and the future for the reality stars seems pretty bleak.

I'm going to go out on a limb here…if you don't want people to judge your most intimate situations, perhaps you shouldn't film said situations as the story line for a docu-drama in which cameras follow you and your cheating husband into marital counseling for his highly publicized affair(s?). There is no need to go Spelling out all of your issues on reality television.

Here's the short sTori: Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott met on set (the original Cibrian-Rimes love story), left their spouses, and then married each other. While having four kids, they proceeded to live life on reality shows that encompassed the couple in every situation from Bed and Breakfasts to family life. Back in December, Dean strayed with a woman who saw dollar signs and sold her story to a tabloid. Since then, Tori footed the bill for his sex addiction rehab while trying to prove to the world that they were still one big happy family. Now, they have filmed the healing process (or maybe final good-bye?) of their union for Lifetime with a show called True Tori which begins April 22.

Tori Spelling films at 'Extra'

I'm no marriage counselor, but I'd imagine the best thing to do in the wake of your husband's very public cheating scandal would be to film a reality show about trying to make your relationship work. Tori Spelling agrees, which is why her latest reality show with husband Dean McDermott focuses on their marital strife.

True Tori premieres April 22nd on Lifetime, and the teaser is extremely dramatic…to put it mildly. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer my Dean and Tori in heavily-scripted situations involving guncles and bed and breakfast endeavors. This is just too raw…at least that's what I gathered from the thirty second clip!

Mother's Day Luncheon

Tori Spelling is putting a positive spin on her marriage woes. Yesterday the Lifetime Network sent out a press release announcing Tori's new show True Tori which will follow Tori and Dean as they work to repair their marriage. In a unique spin, the cameras will begin filming only weeks before the premiere date, allowing the show to air in what seems like real time.

For those of you who do not follow the drama that is Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, here is an overview. The twosome met on the set of a made-for-TV movie while both married to other people — not the best way to start a relationship if you ask me. After a wedding, popping out 4 kids rather quickly and starring in a variety of reality TV shows, the seemingly-happy twosome's world cam crashing down amidst Dean's alleged alcohol-fueled fling with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand in Toronto last December.
