Captain Lee Rosbach hates babysitting. Even so, he does trend towards giving both professional and personal advice to his crew. At least for the purpose of writing his Below Deck blog. This week he had a lot to say to Tyler Rowland for dumping Rhylee Gerber at a cheap patio bar. You wouldn’t even think you were in Tahiti sitting on that slab of concrete.
But professionally, the Captain had nothing to chastise his crew over. And he’ll always give praise where it’s due. Captain Lee had great feedback for his Bosun Ross Inia, and Chief Stew Kate Chastain. Both department heads have been keeping it drama free.
Rhylee Gerber and Tyler Rowland as a couple make for uncomfortable TV. If they’re not getting intimate without any regard for the camera in their room, they’re bringing Below Deck viewers along on their cringeworthy date.
Not only was it an awkward date, but a lazy one at best. Considering their shared outdoor interests, Tyler could have surely planned some activity. You’re in Tahiti after all!
I don’t even know what to say about tonight’s Below Deck except where do they find these people? A sanitarium? A circus? A casting call for the insanely entitled? A meeting of Delusionals Anonymous? Actually I feel like Tyler Rowland is chairing that meeting. And obviously I’m delusional too if I think that’s all I’m going to say about last night’s epic episode!
So we open the episode with drunk guests falling off a moving jet ski at 10 am. The jet ski definitely would’ve failed a field sobriety test, but Captain Lee Rosbach screaming in the guests’ faces certainly knocked the sobriety into them!
Below Deck returns tonight, bringing some insane charter guests, and a deeper glimpse into what will become of the relationships on this show once the charter season ends. Uh-oh!
With one charter left until the end of the season, Tyler Rowland asks Rhylee Gerber out on an official date. Then, he learns that have drastically different expectations for what comes next.
The drama of Below Deck tends to manifest in different areas of the boat as a season progresses. The interactions of this crew, both good and bad, have migrated from the crew mess, to the swim platform, back to the staff quarters. On this week’s After Show, the cast dish on their experiences rooming with a member of the opposite sex.
And this season seems to have more co-ed cabins than usual. Chief Stew Kate Chastain and her bestie Josiah Carter share a room. Laura Betancourt is fending off unwanted suggestive comments from her roommate Adrian Martin. Rhylee Gerber’s cabin previously witnessed the breakdown of Caroline Bedol. Now it’s all about night-vision hookups between herself and Tyler Rowland.
With the crew of Below Deck operating at about the least amount of dysfunction that we’ve seen yet this season. Captain Lee Rosbach devoted more of his blog to relationship and life advice. So he had less to say to Kate Chastain, Josiah Carter, and Ross Inia this week. This trio keeps it professional on the boat for sure.
Captain Lee praised Kate for managing her crew so well. He wrote, “Your interior team seems to be running on all cylinders so kudos to you. Everyone seems to be getting on well and pulling together. I’m loving it.”
The true star of last week’s Below Deck was Josiah Carter and the contents of his gold speedo. It’s really refreshing to learn more about Josiah and watch him overcome some insecurities. The only other notable moment of the episode was Tyler Rowland mumbling about “skid marks” and his jar of peanut butter. Entertaining, but not article-worthy.
Up to this point, Josiah has kept his prim and proper British butler persona and we haven’t seen much more than that. But this particular group of charter guests forced Josiah to relive past bullying trauma. Josiah sat down with Chief Stew Kate Chastain on the Below Deck After Show to reflect on the incident.
On last night’s Below Deck Josiah Carter‘s childhood insecurities were triggered by demanding and flamboyant guests, and Rhylee Gerber and Tyler Rowland took their relationship next level!
After an entire season of Josiah flying under the radar, it was kinda nice to learn more about him.
Morning Afters on this show are always a shammy of shame. Except if you’re Rhylee and Tyler! I don’t know how anyone who spends like 2 hours a day cleaning and 8 hours a day screaming about how she’s being rejected from manual labor has any energy leftover to be sexing down Tyler, but Rhylee does. She has fought flounder with her barehands so clearly she is superhuman. After 3 solid days of hooking up, Rhylee and Tyler are basically levitating on the after-sex glow as they flirt through their chores.
