How could you not love the Robertson family from A&E's Duck Dynasty? The answer is…you can't not love them. It's a sheer impossibility to find anything wrong with this crew.
As you all know, the Robertsons love family, faith, sweet tea, deer hunting, and apparently, surprises! The folks attending the grand opening of the new Field & Stream in Crescent Springs, KY can certainly attest to that fact! Uncle Si and nephew Alan Robertson surprised the crowd who was participating in a Duck Dynasty Look-A-Like contest and took photos with the winners.
Five winners were chosen in all including two Uncle Si winners (a child and an adult), and Jase, Willie and Phil impersonators. Seriously, how could you not adore this family?
What is this world coming to? Seriously! I am quickly losing faith in humankind. First, Kim Kardashiangets engaged for a third time, and I have yet to rent space on my ring finger to any cubic zirconia, much less a fifteen carat diamond. Then, my love Pauly D goes and fathers a child behind my back (come to think of it, maybe my attraction to Pauly D has something to do with the caliber of guys I find who aren't proposing—and that's likely a good thing!), and now someone has just gone too far. TOO FAR!
You want to smash the pumpkin on my front porch? Go for it, you punk vandal. Your sticky fingers want to take more than your fair share of the candy I leave out on Halloween? Eat away, chubs! But do not, I repeat, DO NOT, defile all that is good and decent in the world…namely Duck Dynasty'sUncle Si Robertson!
In the immortal words of Stephanie Tanner, "How rude!" Is this what the world is coming to? Families decorate for fall only to have their hard work stolen during the dark of night? For shame. This news makes me anything but happy, happy, happy!
Duck Dynastyfans and decent people in general from Ball Ground, Georgia are appalled after the town's favorite scarecrow went missing last Wednesday. The scarecrow, sporting camouflage, was a dead ringer for Uncle Si.
They're not going anywhere, and I, for one, couldn't be more elated happy, happy, happy! The phenomenon that is Duck Dynasty keeps spreading faith, humor, family values, and positivity, and it isn't going anywhere any time soon.
I know you'll agree with me that it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Silas Robertson is married, y'all! Of course, we all already knew this, although Uncle Si's wife has stayed out of the spotlight while her husband and family skyrocketed to fame withDuck Dynasty.
When news of Si's happy forty-three union became common knowledge, hearts were breaking all over the country, although his love for his wife made all those broken-hearted ladies adore him even more. Am I right? Oh, I know I am!
As y'all know, I love Duck Dynasty. In a reality world with name-calling, back-stabbing, hair-pulling, and bed-hopping, I find the Robertsons to be a refreshing change of pace! (Don't get me wrong, I like some drama, too!) Uncle Si has been the breakout star of the A&E hit. While he's been everything from a fashion model to an air traffic controller, yesterday Si added author to his list of accomplishments. His book Si-cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty's Favorite Uncle hit the shelves yesterday.
Si's stories span from days of playing hooky with his brothers to earning good grades in college despite having a hard time making it to class. He discusses his time in the military, how he met his wife, and the blessing of his two children and eight grandchildren.
In an interview with the Christian Post, Si talks about why he chose to pen the tome, as well as the strong faith he shares with his family. Initially, he didn't want to write a book, fearing that he didn't have enough family memories to share with his fans due to his twenty-five years serving in the armed forces. He says, "I was in the military, so I told my wife that I was never there for the kids when they were growing up. And she said, 'oh yeah you were. Let me go get a photo album.' And she was showing me dressed as a bunny rabbit, rooster, and Santa Claus during Christmas time. Personally, I didn't feel that I was there enough."
However, in true Si fashion, he ended up going for it, lamenting, "They just kept bothering me, so I said, OK."
Y'all know I adore the Robertson family, so I am filling up on A&E reruns like Uncle Si fills up on his daily two gallons of sweet tea. In just three seasons, Duck Dynasty has become the number one nonfiction cable series, and the boys are on track to sell more than 750,000 duck calls this year…which is quite the jump from the 60,000 sold in 2011.
Willie, Jase, Si, and brother Phil recently shared the secrets to their success, how they remain grounded, and what's behind their scripted shenanigans…all while cracking jokes of their own. I so love this fam!
