Dancing With The Stars Results: It’s Chaz Bono’s Curtain Call

Last night was the results show for Dancing with the Stars’ Ode to Broadway. Right away, the judges choose J.R. Martinez, who is tied with Rickie Lake for the top spot, to dance an encore performance of his quickstep. Not surprisingly, J.R. and Karina Smirnoff receive a standing ovation, and the pair is deemed safe from elimination.

After the leaders (along with second place contender Nancy Grace) hype up next week’s Halloween extravaganza, Broadway darling Kristen Chenoweth performs a song from her new CD. Monday night’s performances featuring Ricki and Derek Hough, as well as Nancy and partner Tristan MacManus are highlighted. The two pairs are up next on the chopping block, and both are declared safe.

The “stars” then discuss their frustrations, tension, and stress from the rigorous practices and live performances. It’s very dramatic…for results show filler. Is it just me or is this elimination episode going even more slowly than normal? At least we have Corbin Bleu (yes, that dude from High School Musical) to mix things up with a Broadway-themed song and dance with the Maci’s Stars of Dance performers. It’s a pretty fabulous number.

Martina McBride takes the stage with her newest song. Behind the scenes footage of David Arquette and Kym Johnson, as well as Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer, is shown. Chaz has the lowest score scores from Monday night, and he’s the first contestant sent to the bottom. David and Kym will return to dance next week.

Pros Mark Ballas and Lacey Schwimmer hit the stage with some very talented children. It’s a Halloween themed dance to get the audience excited for next week’s special. These kids are amazing dancers, but the girl dressed up as the doll freaks me out just a tad. Hope Solo and Maks Chmerkovskiy discuss Maks’ outburst at Len Goodman on Monday night after he called it Hope’s worst dance of the season. While Hope stands behind her partner, Maks feels he overstepped his bounds by referring to it as HIS show. Perhaps just a bit…

Rob Kardashian hitting partner Cheryl Burke’s head on the floor is replayed, but the couple still manages to skate through till next week. It really bothers me that I am kind of starting to enjoy Rob…he’s definitely not the best dancer, but he has a cute personality. Maybe I just feel sorry for him because his family grates on my last nerve (not you, Lamar Odom!). Hopefully it’s just a phase.

Hope and Maks are in jeopardy with Chaz and Lacey. Chaz looks worried, Hope is laughing (maybe nervously?). It’s getting to the point where I get kind of sad to see anyone go, regardless of how bad they dance. After a long run, most of it at the bottom of the leaderboard, Chaz is eliminated. You can’t say he didn’t have a great run! He says his good-byes with a lot of class.

DO YOU THINK CHAZ DESERVED TO GO HOME? WHICH “STARS” DO YOU PREDICT WILL BE IN THE FINALS? WHO DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE NEXT ONE ELIMINATED?
