American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has stepped out with a rocking new figure thanks to diet, exercise, and good old fashioned hard work.  The star has recently lost fifty pounds!  How did she do it?  She entirely changed her diet and lifestyle, implementing new strategies to make sure that the pounds just melted away.

Jordin touts cutting out her Starbucks cravings and late night snacks, and swapping out sugary drinks and treats with healthier options.  She also swears by portion control and not eating within two hours of going to bed.

The songstress recently flaunted her new body in a bikini on the cover of Shape.  She tells the magazine, “I just wanted to be healthy.  “I remember thinking, ‘I’m in my prime. I should be happy and fit.’ That was the moment I decided that changes needed to be made.”

Jordin continues, “I knew I had a long road ahead of me. I was barely working out, and my diet was a mess.”

She admits that it took her a little longer to get on board with exercising than it did changing her eating habits.  Jordin explains that she started with daily walks close to home, saying, “I had to start gradually.  Soon I was able to shift to a more challenging pace and go hiking in the nearby mountains.”

When Jordin joined a gym and started Zumba, she reveals,“The weight really started falling off. It was awesome.”

She concludes that she’s never felt sexier.  I think Jordin looks totally amazing, and it’s refreshing to see someone accomplish their weight loss goal with hard work and not a quick fix.
