The Situation Hints At New Girlfriend, Reveals Family Talked Him Into Rehab For Painkiller Addiction

Back off ladies, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is a taken man!  Stop crying and set your sights on Pauly D (Vinny’s mine! 😉 ).  Yes, it’s true, Jersey Shore’s most obnoxious bachelor is finally off the market.

Recently on Live! With Kelly, the GTLer admitted that he has “a new girlfriend.”  I know y’all are all devastated, but you just need to pick up pieces of your broken hearts and move on from the hair gelling ab flasher.  It just wasn’t meant to be.

Wetpaint.com is reporting that Mike’s lucky lady is someone any Jersey Shore fan would know.  The site alleges that Mike has been stepping out with Paula Pickard, the guidette who won his heart on Season 6.  I mean, he did ask her to go steady (okay, maybe those weren’t his exact words) towards the end of last season.  For those of you who watch the orange folks binge drink and inadvertently flash their privates (I’m not judging, I’m watching relentlessly!), you also know that not only did Mike take a liking to Paula, his roommates thought she was awesome as well.  Here’s hoping she is Sitch’s new love…she gives him a bit of credibility!

Of course, things for the Situation haven’t been all love and mushiness lately.  He recently spoke with InTouch about his addiction to prescription meds.  He tells the magazine that both his addiction and his withdrawals from the painkillers were horrendous.

Mike recalls thinking, “Am I going to be that guy that was so awesome on the Jersey Shore and then . . . that’s it?”

The reality TV star remembers a time when his withdrawal symptoms were so severe that he almost didn’t show up for an Australian appearance that would garner him $40,000 because he didn’t want to get out of bed.  Mike says, “I didn’t even care!  When you’re dependent on a substance, it’s the only thing that matters.”

Thankfully, the Situation got the help he needed by entering rehab after much convincing from his family.  He remembers how his family approached him about getting well, revealing, “On the plane home, they said, ‘Mike, you’ve got to handle this now.’  I knew that they were right, that if I didn’t fix the problem there’d be no Situation.”

And, let’s be honest, who wants to live in a world with no Situation?  Not this girl, that’s for sure!  That said, I have a work-out and some laundry I need to tend to…

TELL US-DO YOU HOPE PAULA IS MIKE’S MYSTERY GIRLFRIEND?  DO YOU THINK HE’S CLEAN FOR GOOD?
