So apparently I wasn't the only one watching Bravo's newest reality show Newlyweds: The First Year.  I had 999,999 of my closest friends watching with me…give or take a few!

The series, which follows four couples through their first year of marriage, premiered on Monday night with three of the four pairs saying their "I dos" in lavish ceremonies.  The show promises to document the ups and downs of family, finances, sex, and the major adjustment that is the first year of marriage.

A Bravo press release shares that over a million viewers tuned in for the debut of Newlyweds which aired after the always popular Real Housewives of Orange County.  Monday's RHOC episode was the highest rated of the season, with over 2 million viewers watching the drama.

According to Nielsen ratings, over 600,000 of those Newlyweds viewers were in the coveted 18-49 age range.  RHOC garnered 1.2 million viewers in that demographic.  I have to say that I really enjoyed the different dynamic of Newlyweds, and I can't wait to follow these couples on their journey.

Of course, reality television is never easy on the institution of marriage.  I'm not so sure testing the already high divorce rate by putting your business out there for world to see is the best thing to do for a newly married couple, but hey, who am I to judge?
