Many Dancing with the Stars fans expected Bristol Palin (and maybe even Kirstie Alley) to fall victim to this week's All Stars double elimination – did you? Were you shocked when Drew Lachey and Helio Castroneves, two former champions, were eliminated instead? If so, you're not alone.
However, nobody is more shocked than Drew himself, and he isn't being shy about it. While Drew says he appreciates the "unpredictability" of Dancing with the Stars, he also believes his exit from All Stars is a little "odd." Drew explains, "I take pride in being a performer, and to me it's ironic that the two Broadway performers – me and Joey [Fatone] – are gone already. It's a little odd to me."
Drew whines, "It sucks!"

Drew doesn't seem to understand that the show is driven by fan votes (and/or producer manipulation). Dancing with the Stars is far from a simple dance competition. Just like all of the other competition shows, viewers vote for their favorite people and not necessarily the best dancer, singer, etc.
The best dancer does not always win Dancing with the Stars. Being a Broadway performer does not guarantee a win. On the flip side, being the worst dancer (cough, Bristol, cough) doesn't guarantee an elimination, either. That's how it works. Poor Drew… his "sexy" and "boy-band concert" dance just didn't pull in the fan votes.
"Do I think we're going home too early? Absolutely," Drew adds. "I don't think there's anybody in this ballroom who would disagree with that [and] I don't think I'm speaking out of turn by saying that. Helio's going home too early as well."
Helio seems to have a better grasp on the reality of reality TV. "In all fairness, it's a show. And it's about voting," Helio says. "If you don't have the scores you have to have the votes." Helio appreciates the invitation to participate, "It's special to be part of the All Star champions, it was an honor."
The people and the workout are what Helio says he'll miss the most.
