We've got a situation here! I have to thank Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino for making that his catchphrase. It just makes blogging life easier. This time around, the Jersey Shore star is not only battling sobriety, but also a vodka company. If it were anyone other than Mike, I'd say they would likely chuckle at the irony.
Mike is suing Devotion Spirits, a company with which he penned an endorsement deal in 2010 (long before heading to rehab for addiction issues). The Situation claims that he maintained his end of the bargain, promoting the protein-infused vodka (yes, you read that correctly…protein-infused. It's alright to gag. I did.) and making the brand the success it is today. While I've never heard of it, I'm not surprised. I prefer to get my protein from some fancy scrambled eggs not my vodka tonic.

TMZ is reporting that Mike's lawsuit is that of the multi-million dollar variety. Is there any other kind in the world of reality stars? According to the suit, Sitch alleges that the company failed to grant him 8 percent ownership in the company, as well as an additional 2 percent on the company's one year anniversary, which was stipulated in the deal.
Additionally, the company refused to exercise a $400,000 buy back option on Mike's shares on Devotion Spirits' two year anniversary. Mike further asserts that even though he fulfilled all of his contractual obligations, the company continually looked for ways to cheat Mike out of his earnings. Also, Mike claims that he was denied requested sales reports. I'm sorry. Devotion Spirits seems to have totally underestimated Mike. He knows vodka, he knows, protein, and he knows a thing or twelve about law suits.
The company could not be reached for comment, but it could potentially lose millions to the GTLer. Mike is asking for his 10 percent ownership (which are estimated to be upwards of $5 million) as well as undisclosed damages. That, my friends, is quite a situation!
