Now is not a good time to be a Ramona Singer fan. Of course, it’s hard to say if Ramona has any fans left after Vanity Fair’s recent exposé. Among the article’s many claims were allegations that Ramona said the N-word, among other racist remarks.
Since then, Ramona has faced a (much-deserved) firestorm of criticism and consequences. On top of being axed from BravoCon 2023, Ramona also lost her real estate job over the controversy.
Despite the slap on the wrist from Bravo, Ramona is still slated to appear in Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. Odds are, it would probably be too costly to try and edit her out at this point. But fans aren’t too happy about that.
Are fans boycotting RHONY Legacy for Ramona?
As part of the BravoCon cross promotions, Bravo set up a giant poster for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. On the morning of November 3, Bravo posted a picture of the poster to their Twitter. It had the caption, “Let’s go girls [cowboy emoji].” While the tweet was met with plenty of excitement, there was a pretty glaring elephant in the room.
As one reply wrote, “Please, no one wants to see Ramona.” Other users got a little more creative in their distaste for Ramona. One reply read, “Can someone buy a clown emoji sticker and put over the one … face, please?” Another reply wrote “Yasss,” but edited the poster to have Ramona blurred out.
One user asked, “are they going to airbrush ramona out??” Another fan, @GossipInformer, took the liberty of doing the edit on Bravo’s behalf. The Twitter user edited the poster with “No Ramona,” removing her completely from the promo, closing the gap her space left. If these fan reactions are any indication, RHONY Legacy might be dead in the water.
Still, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy is scheduled for December 2023.
