News of Gerry Turner’s divorce from Theresa Nist shocked the nation, even despite rumors. Understandably, almost everyone wants to get their two cents in about The Golden Bachelor couple. Now, Theresa’s daughter, Jen Woolston, has spoken out.
We reported on Gerry and Theresa’s divorce announcement on April 12. Gerry told the press that he and Theresa had multiple “heart-to-heart conversations” before coming to their decision. As one might imagine, it couldn’t have been an easy decision for either of them.
Theresa noted how much support the couple had received. She expressed, “I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope. We want none of that to change for anybody.” So, how does Theresa’s daughter feel about the ordeal?
The Golden Bachelor daughters reflect on their time as a family
On April 17, Jen Woolston shared a photo of the combined Turner/Nist family on Instagram at the Golden Wedding. In the caption, Jen reflected, “I had only the loveliest experiences being with Gerry and his family.” She added, “I will hold the days we were officially family in my heart forever, and will think of them as family always.”
As a testament to general goodwill, commenters gave a general showing of support. “Pure class and grace,” one commenter wrote. “This has to be tough for your entire family. I loved following this.” One of Gerry’s daughters, Angie Turner, also popped up in the comments. “Right back at you Jen!” she wrote. “You guys will always be family to us as well!!”
While tensions might be high for Golden Bachelor viewers, it’s important to keep things civil. Gerry is something of a controversial figure these days, but he’s a real man. A man with family members who very well may be affected by the online discourse. That’s not to say Gerry deserves an omnipresent shield from all criticism. But fans might want to watch where they throw punches.
