Benson Boone recalled his “insane” experience with Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour as one of the only male opening acts. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, he revealed how being a part of Swift’s record-breaking tour “really changed my perspective” on a lot of things that he wishes to implement in his own career. These included watching her way of treating people and learning from it so he could “treat people and my crew” the same way.
Benson Boone reveals how Taylor Swift treats her crew
Benson Boone, the only male artist to open Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour last year, opened up about his experience working with and learning from her. He told Rolling Stone about Swift being an “unbelievable performer” and the “unmatched” and “unbelievable world built around her.” Boone then delved into a few of the “countless moving parts” that happened behind the scenes of her “vastly gigantic” shows that people don’t often know about.
“She [Swift] is one of a kind,” highlighted the “In The Stars” singer before describing her as a “genuine” and “kind” person. In addition, he opened up about having “the privilege to talk” to the Grammy winner and learn things from her.
Boone even mentioned the singer’s onstage shout-out for him, to highlight her compassion. “It really changed my perspective on so many things that I want to carry into my own career,” said the 22-year-old, claiming that her way of treating people and her crew is how he wishes to treat those around him.
Benson Boone further addressed “people who don’t like Taylor Swift,” pointing out that “everybody is entitled to their own opinion.” However, he continued that it’s unfair for people to “have something against her” without knowing her.”
Before that, Boone discussed his experience working with the celebrated artist, claiming he could not believe it when her team reached out to him for an opening act. That was when he started listening to more of Swift’s music because “I didn’t want to go to that show and not know anything.”
Per the report, Boone performed at Swift’s June show at London’s Wembley Stadium.
