Zendaya is gearing up to walk down the Met Gala’s steps again this year but with a noticeable change. The actor-singer made her big return to the glamorous fashion event in 2024 after skipping it for four years. While the anticipation is already soaring for what Zendaya will bring to the biggest night this time, her longtime stylist, Law Roach, recently confirmed a significant change for 2025.
Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach reveals they will arrive ‘separately’ at Met Gala 2025
Zendaya is sure to bring her fashion A-game yet again for one of the most glamorous nights of the year — the Met Gala 2025. However, her long-running tradition of attending the prestigious event with Law Roach will take the backseat this year. Zendaya’s longtime stylist recently spilled the beans while attending the Fashion Trust Awards in Los Angeles on April 8.
During an interview with E! News‘ The Rundown’s Erin Lim Rhodes, Roach confirmed that he and Zendaya “are going to be on the Met Gala steps.” But he also revealed that the two will go “separately this year.” The star duo, who have worked together since the early days of Zendaya’s acting career, have continued to receive much love from fans. Therefore, the change is quite a significant one. Nonetheless, Roach added, “That’s going to be really amazing.”
The celebrity stylist further explained that he and Zendaya are doing their “own thing this year,” which he believes will be “exciting.” The “Dune” actor made her Met Gala debut in 2015 and has continued to own star-studded events with her impeccable style. During last year’s fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, Zendaya served not one but two show-stealing looks while walking the steps. Later, she slipped into another glittery gown while taking the stage during the ceremony as one of the co-chairs.
Now, the wait has already begun for the Met Gala 2025, which will take place on May 5. Vogue noted that this year’s theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The celebrities are expected to bring forth their “creative interpretation” of menswear-inspired looks for the “Tailored for You” dress code.
