Nature can play a part in the healing process, and Kate Middleton asserted the same as she opened up about her focus on finding peace following her cancer battle. The Princess of Wales recently shared the benefits of spending time outdoors during a Scouts visit to the Lake District in the United Kingdom. While walking in the woods, Middleton even got candid about her “spiritual” and “meaningful” connection with nature.
Kate Middleton talks peace and reconnection following her cancer battle
Kate Middleton recently spoke about her way of finding peace following her cancer battle. On April 14, Kensington Palace released a new video of the 43-year-old member of the British royal family visiting the scenic Lake District. The Princess of Wales, who is also the joint president of the Scouts youth organization in the UK, spoke to a group of kids.
During the visit, Middleton raised awareness about the benefits of spending time in the natural world for young people. While walking through the woods and talking to the Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields, Middleton also opened up about how nature brings her peace. The princess said, “I find it a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection, I suppose, these environments.” She continued, “Not everyone has that same relationship perhaps with nature.”
Middleton added that nature is “so, therefore meaningful” for her. She continued to explain that it is a “place to balance and find a sort of sense of peace and reconnection in what is otherwise a very busy world.” Later, Middleton and Fields joined the young Scouts and Scout Explorers for a walk near the shores of Lake Windermere. At one point, the princess also spoke to the group about the location’s landmarks.
Kate Middleton announced in January 2025 that she was in remission after undergoing treatment for a year. Since then, Middleton has continued to focus on her recovery and resumed her royal appearances at numerous events.
