In 2016, Kim Kardashian was tied up and held at gunpoint while nine men and one woman raided her Paris hotel room, stealing an estimated $10 million worth of jewelry. The heist caught international attention and Kim says the incident changed her life forever. Now, she’s in court.
The robbers allegedly involved in the 2016 heist are on trial, facing charges for armed robbery, kidnapping, and other criminal charges. Kim took the witness stand on Tuesday, May 13 where she recounted the night in question, telling the court she feared for her life.
Here are the craziest details from Kim’s May 13 court testimony.
Kim Kardashian said in court she thought Kourtney Kardashian would find her “shot dead”
In her testimony, Kim painted a vivid picture of the night in question, saying the invasion happened around 3 a.m., CBS News reported.
She was trailing off to sleep when she heard someone coming up the stairs. The defendants entered her room wearing police uniforms and pointed a gun at her. She said she believed the robbers planned to kill her, telling the court she feared her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, who was staying with her, would find her dead body.
“I would be dead on the bed, shot dead, and she would see that and have that memory forever,” she recounted.
When the Judge asked if she feared for her life that night, she replied, “I absolutely thought I was going to die.”
Kim Kardashian’s court testimony included her recollection of getting tape off her hands after the heist
Kim also shared what happened in the aftermath of the robbery. Once the defendants left her room, she hid outside on the balcony, fearing they would return and kill her.
“Maybe to kill us so there were no witnesses,” she said. “I didn’t know what was in their mind, so I was not going to take any chances.”
She also spoke about the process of untying her hands once she was alone.
“I was able to get the hand tape off and then I hopped down to find Simone,” she said, referring to her stylist who was in another part of the Paris suite, Reuters reported. Simone then helped remove the remaining bindings.
Simone testified earlier in the trial. She spoke about the sounds she heard coming from Kim’s room, saying she worried Kim was being “raped or violated.”.
“When I heard this sound it was very different and it woke me up out of my sleep because it was sound that I had never heard from Kim. It was terror,” she testified. “What I heard specifically: ‘I have babies and I need to live,’ this is what she kept saying. ‘Take everything – I need to live’.”
Kim Kardashian also said in court she feared an intruder would be “dressed like police”
Once police arrived at the scene, Kim had trouble trusting them because the robbers were dressed like officers. She testified that she remembered “being confused if they were real police because the other guys were dressed as police. I didn’t know who to trust,” the New York Post reported.
Kim shared how the robbery affected her, detailing the life changes she made after the incident.
“My style in security is completely different now than it was back then,” she said. “We try to have security in all the rooms.” She also spoke about the public conspiracies that followed the robbery, most notably the one that she staged the invasion for publicity.
“It was really hard for me when people said I’d made it up for my TV show, I wasn’t filming my TV show,” she said. “It was really hurtful, that was something that really stung deeply.”
Kim Kardashian begged for her life on the night of the robbery
In an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017, Kim said the robbery made her less materialistic.
“I was definitely materialistic before,” she told the host. “I don’t care to show off the way that I used to … It’s just not who I am anymore.”
In her May 2025 testimony, Kim said the only thought of her family, urging the robbers to take whatever they want and spare her life.
“‘I have babies and I need to live!’ That is what she kept on saying, ‘Take everything. I need to live,'” Kim’s stylist Simone told the court in her testimony.
