In the UK, normal seasons of The Traitors consist of only civilians. They normally just throw regular people into that castle. The lineup for BBC’s first-ever edition of Celebrity Traitors is stacked with familiar faces. The 19 celebrities will be divided into Traitors and Faithfuls. They’ll compete for a grand prize of £100,000 ($132,000).
The biggest difference between this and the American version is that the prize money is going to a charity of their choice. No one is getting rich off the game of lying and backstabbing. It’s for a good cause!
The celebrities are in Scotland right now filming the show right now with Claudia Winkleman returning to host the show. It’s a role she’s held for the UK’s civilian version of Traitors for three seasons. In a statement to BBC, she said they felt lucky to have so many big faces coming into the castle.
“We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes,” Claudia said. “I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks, but that would be a lie.”
Celebrity Traitors UK is coming to BBC One and iPlayer in Fall 2025.
