Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen have been on and off again so many times that it’s hard to keep track. After her swinger scandal and divorce, Taylor was hoping she could find a nice guy to settle down with. What she ended up getting was Dakota, who has only caused her trouble. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star is trying to pick up the pieces of her relationship and is questioning if Dakota was her punishment for not waiting. Sadly, Season 2 is going to give Taylor some clarity, whether she wants it or not.
Did Dakota Mortensen cheat on Taylor Frankie Paul?
During Season 1 of the Real Lives of Mormon Lives, Mayci Neeley revealed that a woman claimed to have “accidentally slept with” Dakota before he and Taylor seriously started dating. In March 2024, at the height of TSLOMW (can we make this happen?), cameras catch Mayci and Taylor talking about the infamous timeline. Dakota has still admitted to nothing, but Taylor is worried she was just a night girl amid new rumors. In September, women started coming forward, stating they had also dated Dakota during the same period. However, at the time, Taylor released a TikTok in support of her baby daddy.
Their relationship has been tumultuous. In August 2023, Taylor was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury, and criminal mischief. Their lack of trust for one another has really soured their relationship. And while Taylor’s family is pushing for a reunion, Taylor is finally realizing she deserves better than being someone’s second choice.

I literally gasped as Episode 1 showed Taylor meeting up with Jenna, the rumored woman Dakota cheated with. Everything was so calm. Mayci hosted and provided soda cocktails. And Jenna came in smiling widely and nervous as hell to tell the truth to the new mom. Jenna spills the tea and is trying to make things right with God. But poor Taylor has just confirmed what she already knew. Jenna hands her phone over, and the texts are read. And it’s not good. According to Jenna, she and Dakota hung out at “the trampoline park, one time we went to the dinosaur museum, and then one time he came over and watched a movie.”
Taylor quickly calls out a date that Dakota swore he had never hung out with Jenna on. But the nervous blonde confirms he is lying. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Jenna awkwardly then noted, “spent the night more than once.” She adds, “We never had sex for sure. I feel like we did a little bit more than just making out. Like we probably just did hand stuff. I don’t think I would have done it to him, though, because being raised Mormon, I was like “Oh, I’m sinning.” How do you not definitively know if you had sex with someone?

Taylor is broken, and honestly, I’m crying right there with her. As Taylor starts to crack, she tells the girls, “This is so awful. This is actually so awful. He definitely lied a ton.” According to Taylor, Dakota deleted a lot of messages in hopes of saving himself. She added, “Now I get why he was so terrified of all this.” In her confessional, Taylor shared that Dakota made it sound like Jenna was begging to hang out and the one reaching out. But in reality, it was all Dakota. The straw that broke Taylor’s back was that he respected Jenna and even apologized, but it left Taylor feeling crazy and gaslit.
Currently, the pair is no longer an item. However, ahead of the premiere of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2, Taylor posted a TikTok video noting that they are co-parenting. She wrote, “coparents and castmates,” while the duo posed for photos. However, Mayci (who might be the MVP) was quick to remind Taylor of her worth, commenting, “He’s only a ‘cast mate’ because you made him one … don’t forget that, bb.”
