At the moment, the future of MTV’s Catfish remains unclear. It’s been a year since a new season has aired, and to be honest, there’s only so many times that Nev Schulman can teach someone how to use reverse image search. Either way, Kamie Crawford confirmed that if there were another season of the show, she wouldn’t be a part of it.
Kamie announced her departure from the MTV show in October 2024, after six years of hosting. Since then, she’s been going out of her way to let the world know that she doesn’t speak with Nev anymore. We don’t know if this should be considered a “beef,” but it definitely sounds like one.

Before Kamie confirmed her departure from Catfish, MTV fans noticed that the two were no longer following each other on social media. A few weeks later, she confirmed that her time with the MTV show had come to an end. However, she’s not done talking about it.
Last month, Kamie did an interview explaining that she wasn’t fired from the show but felt ready to move on. She also, not-so-subtly revealed that she’s no longer on speaking terms with Nev. In a new interview with E! News, she repeated that point. It’s like she really wants the world to know that something went left. Fans just wish she would spill the tea already.
“We are not [in touch],” Kamie admitted. “But I’m still in contact with a lot of the people from the show. The Catfishes included, so I am very, very happy.”
The fact that she’s in touch with the Catfishes but doesn’t speak to Nev speaks volumes. At the bare minimum, you’d think she’d send him a “Happy Thanksgiving” text message or something. They worked together for six years, but now they’ve gone no contact? Something doesn’t add up there, but Kamie insisted that her experience on the MTV show was nothing short of “incredible.”
“I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world,” Kamie said. “I’m so proud of everything that we did on the show. But I’m really excited to start producing my own projects and put my name behind my projects as more than just a host.”
While the future remains uncertain for Catfish, Kamie went ahead and ruled out the possibility of returning to the show. She’s not even free for a cameo in Season 10. She told the outlet, “[I] think I’ve had my fill.”
