It’s been several months since the Palisades and LA wildfires gutted the homes of many LA natives including several celebrities. The devastation remains fresh for many. But life carries on and Melissa Rivers talks about the items she found in the destroyed foundation of her home.
Over 68,000 structures burned in the massive fires and they are still clearing the lots. Melissa guested on Jeff Lewis Live and talked to Jeff about that horrible time and what has happened to the remains of her home since. She’s just one of many celebrities who lost their homes. Gigi and Bella Hadid’s childhood home was burned to a crisp, Eugene Levy lost his home along with many more.

“They are still clearing the lots,” Jeff shared. “And they haven’t cleared your lot yet?” he confirmed with Melissa.
“No, hopefully this week,” she answered. “I’ve gone up there digging. And I found a few things.”
Jeff asked her what she found and she admitted that it was “amazing what didn’t burn.”
“I found some China and bits and pieces of silver that I took,” Melissa shared. “Because all of my grandmother’s silver is gone. I found some vases that were from my mom’s house in Connecticut that I loved.”
She also revealed that her front gate survived unscathed. It was made of metal as well as her pergola. She contacted the makers of the gate and offered that they can use her gate as an ad in exchange for installing the new gate at her new property.
“But they were like, ‘No, we already took photos of all our gates that survived.’ So I’m like, ‘Oh.’”
When Jeff asked her what she planned to do with the property once it’s been cleared she said she just wanted to wait and see for now. Many have made the move to sell their properties but she’s looking to see what will happen.
The fires devastated so many. While many celebrities lost homes, other celebrities did what they could to help. Beyonce gave a $2.5 million donation to LA fires relief and Paris Hilton raised over $500,000 to support families impacted by the blaze. Even Tom Sandoval and his girlfriend helped animals displaced by the fires.
