While attending the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party, Salma Hayek disclosed in a new interview with E! News how she has created a special relationship with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ four kids. The Mexican-American actor has previously worked with the couple in different projects.
Currently, Lively and Reynolds are embroiled in an ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, whom the “Gossip Girl” alum had accused of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her. However, Baldoni followed up with a $400 million countersuit against the couple and their publicist for defamation, civil extortion, and invasion of privacy.
When asked whether she would appear in any new project with Reynolds and Lively, Hayek said, “We’ve been friends for a very long time, and I’m close to their kids.” Referring to James, Inez, Betty, and Olin, the actor continued, “I got a chance to go play with them.” She even shared how the little ones “got to see their tía Salma [aunty Salma].”
Salma Hayek then gushed about how some of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ kids speak Spanish, which is her native language. The “From Dusk till Dawn” actor hinted that this has helped her create a more precious bond with the star kids. She explained that some of the children “speak some Spanish.” Hayek further added, “Especially the little one, they understand. They understand Spanish and they are lovely.”
