I’m still clutching my metaphorical pearls after the conclusion of Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Beyond the powerplay of Demi Engemann trying to oust the leader and creator, Taylor Frankie Paul, sh*t went down. As the ladies would say, “Oh my hell!”
Marciano Brunette has entered The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives chat
As the season finale got underway, I just knew that Layla Taylor was up to something. She’s been quiet all season with the exception of her 15 minutes of fame for taking a joint from a burlesque dancer. For the most part, Layla rode the fence the entire season. But when Demi started to act out of character, her friend became suspicious. By now, everyone had heard the rumors that Demi ALLEGEDLY flirted at Vanderpump Villa. Cameras showed Demi and Marciano Brunette getting close. But according to her, nothing had ever happened except that she offered him some solid life advice. It didn’t help that Marciano spoke out on the Vanderpump Villa reunion about Demi. “I had a very strong attraction that led to something on the outside of the castle. Now Demi has revealed something more sinister was going on.
“And it wasn’t just Demi.” Layla began to question the validity of the story and asked Marciano if he’d come to Utah to clear up any questions. Firstly, I don’t know what anyone sees in the server. He is pompous and always peacocking, so I would take what he says with a grain of salt. Layla and Marciano meet up at a ski resort, where she gets down to business and asks if he had a fling with Demi. The Las Vegas server notes that he fell hard for the 30-year-old, but nothing happened. However, he then indicates he ALLEGEDLY had an affair with Jessi Ngatikaura.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Demi Engemann claims she was groped at Vanderpump Villa
While speaking out on The Viall Files podcast, Demi shared some background information about her feud with the girls. She noted, “A couple things were off-camera, specifically, I had opened up to all the girls after Vanderpump Villa that I’d been groped, and I asked them not to tell anyone.” Demi did not elaborate about the alleged incident. But claimed Jessi repeated the story to Scheana Shay. “I just said, ‘I need you to respect that I don’t want to talk about this and I don’t want to make it legal,’” Demi shared.
“I think, all but two weeks later, Jessi went out to do Scheana’s podcast and told [her]. I was like, ‘You don’t even know this person [and] why would you, in the first five minutes of knowing this person, tell her something that I’ve asked you not to tell her?’ That was really hurtful for me.” Jessi and Demi are not in a good space. On the same podcast, Demi shaded her former BFF, noting, “If you had a friend, where you’ve hurt each other and then that person decides to completely remove themselves from your life and block you on everything, do you feel like it’s your place to go knocking down their door?” Demi said. “It’s almost, kind of, if the conversation were to naturally happen, sure, [and] now I know how to take full accountability.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives ended on a cliffhanger
Now, we know Hulu announced back in October that they had picked up The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives for another 20 episodes. Season 2 only aired ten episodes. So the question remains: will we have to wait for Season 3? Or is there Season 2 Part B coming our way? The finale ended with Marciano saying he not only made out with Jessi but the pair ALLEGEDLY had sex more than once. Layla is left speechless as the Vanderpump Villa star sips his tequila on the rocks. Marciano then notes that Jordan Ngatikaura “doesn’t know the truth about how extensive it was. It wasn’t just a one-time hook-up thing.”
The timing of Marciano’s confession seems too good to be true. Demi and Jessi had just had a minor falling out. Fans watched as Jessi learned that Demi had taken business away from her hair salon, essentially poo-pooing Jessi’s talent. The finale also showed Demi walking out on MomTok when no one supported her coup d’état attempt to rid the group of Taylor. The episode ended on “To Be Continued.” But it showed that Hulu had footage of the aftermath, which showed Jessi tearfully saying, “She knows this is ruining my family, my life. This is Demi’s doing.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 will be available to stream on Hulu on May 15th. The show streams on Disney+ in the UK.
