The Valley Producer Alex Baskin Responds to Rumors the Show Will Be Paused

By now, you’ve probably seen those posts floating around claiming that The Valley is at risk of being put on “pause” because the Bravo executives felt things were going in a negative direction. Executive producer Alex Baskin has entered the chat, and he’s making it clear that The Valley isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Thank goodness.

Will The Valley go on “pause” after Season 2?

In an Instagram post, the show’s executive producer said there was “no truth” to the rumors about The Valley going on pause after Season 2. He put those words in all caps. That’s how you know he’s serious.

And if you’re looking for an accurate source, it doesn’t really get any more legit than Alex. He’s not just the EP of The Valley. He’s also responsible for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and the just-announced Shahs of Sunset spinoff, which will be a part of The Valley franchise.

The initial claim that The Valley would be taking a pause after Season 2 came from The Sun. Notoriously, they’re pretty hit or miss with their reporting. This time, they definitely missed.

According to the bogus report, Bravo execs were feeling frustrated with the show’s declining ratings. Specifically, they called out Season 2 Episode 5 for delivering a series low in ratings. Their source said that between the ratings and some of the controversial storylines unfolding in Season 2, Bravo executives felt like they were at a crossroads.

“Between that and the problematic behavior of Jax [Taylor], the higher-ups are weighing the options over continuing with the trajectory it’s going in or regrouping,” the insider claimed, adding that putting the show “on pause” was a possibility.

Fortunately, that rumor made it across Alex’s desk. We can all sleep a little easier knowing that the future of The Valley isn’t at risk. However, that doesn’t mean that the entire cast of Season 2 will be asked to return. A little change wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Catch new episodes of The Valley every Tuesday at 9/8c on Bravo and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
