The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jessi Ngatikaura and Demi Engemann started the season as besties, but now they’re enemies. Cracks started to show midway through Season 2. At a group dinner, Demi admitted she was fine with Jessi leaving the show if it meant a pay raise. Things got worse from there. Including the reveal that Demi insulted Jessi’s business, JZ Styles. And there’s also Marciano Brunette

In the wake of Season 2, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast members are making the interview rounds. The ladies keep spilling tea and throwing jabs at one another. There’s also, of course, a lot of fighting on social media. Considering what Jessi is saying about her doppelganger and former bestie Demi, Season 2’s fallout was just the beginning. Here’s why Jessi is adamant that their friendship is done for good.

Why Jessi Ngatikaura can’t forgive Demi Engemann after The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2

In an interview with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea alongside Layla Taylor, Jessi emphasized that her once-close friendship with Demi is “done for good.” She swore the two will “never be friends” again. And it’s because of Demi’s “unforgivable” actions. “And I’m a pretty forgiving person,” Jessi said, adding, “It’s a lot for me to say that.”

Jessi called their fallout a “slow burn.” We saw this on Season 2, as they were still close as ever for the first few episodes. Even after the reveal that Demi was willing to get Jessi off the show, they continued hanging out. But Jessi did say that happened when they were previously in a bad place. And soon enough, they were in a bad place once again. This time, Jessi is convinced they can’t come back.

Speaking to Page Six, Jessi called Demi a “bully.” And accused her of coming after both her business and her family. She said that combination was the final straw. Jessi added, “In real life, it’s getting worse.”

It will also get worse on future episodes of the show. Especially after Marciano’s allegations about Jessi. She seemingly blames Demi for some part of those rumors. Season 2 ended with a preview clip of Jessi saying, “She knows this is ruining my family, my life. This is Demi’s doing.”

Jessi Ngatikaura makes new allegations about Demi and Bret Engemann after Viall Files interview

Before The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 premiered on Hulu, Demi and her husband Bret Engemann went on The Viall Files. Throughout their appearance, both Demi and Bret said Jessi was changed by fame. Demi also accused Jessi of spilling the beans about Marciano allegedly groping her, after she specifically said not to tell anyone.

Jessi fired back on Instagram stories and in comments. On stories, she shared a clip of Demi and Bret saying she is only concerned about fame. Jessi wrote, “willing to kick your friend off for more money but I’m the one in the wrong?” She added that the couple’s “high and mighty act is getting old.”

On a post from realityops, Jessi commented, “Maybe it’s time I talk about how Bret asked my husband for $10,000 to pay his bills a few months back.” And on another post from fan account secretlivesmormonwives, Jessi called Bret a “47 year old washed up loser who can’t hold a job.” She repeated the accusation that Bret asked Jessi and her husband Jordan for ten grand to cover bills.

How Demi Engemann surpassed Whitney Leavitt as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives villain

Season 1’s villain Whitney Leavitt was on the outskirts of MomTok in Season 2. She unanimously lost a vote to be added back into MomTok. Members of the group avoided her events, like a baby shower for her son Billy. And they left a group chat she attempted to start.

With Whitney on the outside, Demi eventually stood out as the new villain of MomTok. The revelation she was willing to get Jessi off the show was a big turning point for that. She didn’t help her case by claiming she was the fan favorite. Then, she ended up in a feud with Taylor Frankie Paul, who emerged as the actual fan favorite.

It’s not just the viewers who named Demi Season 2’s villain. Jessi and Layla said the same. “I think each season, naturally, a new villain kind of will emerge and show themselves for sure,” Layla said.

Why Jessi Ngatikaura doubts Demi Engemann and Whitney Leavitt’s friendship

Demi and Whitney have started hanging out more since Demi fell out with the other MomTokers after an attempted coup in Season 2. Jessi doesn’t buy that their newfound closeness is genuine. “It’s very convenient,” she said, adding, “It’s because they have no one else.” Jessi is also surprised by the friendship because, looking back, she says Demi was “a bully to Whitney” on the Park City cast trip.

Season 2 saw Whitney hanging out with others who were on the fringes of the group, including Jen Affleck. Memorably, Whitney was overjoyed when Demi said she would hang out with her on the Scottsdale trip. However, Demi also failed to vote Whitney back into MomTok.

Despite her villain status in Season 1, Jessi said that she actually likes Whitney. However, she added, “when she’s with Demi, I just keep my distance.” Considering how popular this show is, Jessi probably can’t keep avoiding Demi for too long. However, judging by a chaotic cast interview, she’s not the only one fed up.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is available to stream on Hulu.
